Not sure about this argument about goals per minute Tam. There is a reason someone isn’t in the starting 11 and it’s usually because they aren’t contributing enough when they are selected to start. To say it’s more impressive when someone is getting goals as a sub misses that fundamental point to me.

Would he be a good signing?
The jiminez deal is almost complete, should be sorted early next week. The price is rumoured to be€41m if we sign him at the end of his loan period.

His goals per minute is more impressive that it seems because he gets less time to make an impression. It would be interesting to see his goals per minute ratios when he starts compared to off the bench.
Every situation is different though and stats don’t tell the whole story anyway. If you are wondering why his starting opportunities are limited, the guy he is behind (Jonas) has scored 99 goals in 108 games. I imagine it would be difficult for anyone to force their way into a starting line up past that.
For the record Raúl Jiménez only started 6 games last season, primarily because Jonas was scoring at will (34 from league 30 games. Jonas missed 4 games at the end of the season and Jimenez filled in for him.
I for one would certainly take him on loan and see what he can do and he fits into a 4-3-3 system. He came off the bench on 29 occasions and had an average of 29.5 mins per game all season. By the way, he also had 7 assists.
So I actually agree with Tamwolf in that he is impressive given the fact that Jonas was scoring at will and keeping him out of the starting line up. Sign him up.
Come on Halfy sort out some signings for fecks sake.
Jimenez will probably be playing second fiddle to our main striker signing.
Great week coming up, fixtures announced, double signing and kit launch.
