Remember, though, that a legacy is what you leave and pass on. At the moment that isn't much. His history is guaranteed and very much golden - at the moment his legacy is not so much.

True but SAF didn't leave such a good legacy at man utd, and he's still generally held in high esteem at Utd

Nah DJ is right. The hate and vitriol was just aimed at Wenger because he refused to step down when it became clear he couldn't turn it around. The love-in with Wenger was always going to return when he would announce his departure. His legacy was never is serious question

SAF spent so little but averaged 86.5 points per season over his last 8 seasons in charge. He left us with so much money for new managers to spend but we messed it up league wise.

The stadium, the increased spending power, players of the calibre of Ozil and Aubameyang, the 3 league titles, the 7 FA Cups, the memories.

His legacy is safe.

People won't look at it too negatively. The fans will remember the pain in past few seasons of regression, but other non Arsenal fans in particular will look at the FA cup wins since 2014.

But overall the Arsenal fans will remember him in a positive light. League titles, FA cup, only CL final (wish he'd won that) and more importantly the stadium
