This is a gaffe. And at a bad time for gaffes. The World Cup may be a distraction but to single that out is to suggest that his players who are likely going to it are not trying as hard. Given his absolute greatest asset is Vardy, who has been the only one who's known where the net is this calendar year and is actually standing up and taking responsibility, this is utterly clueless from a relations point of view.

Greatteams - I do question some of the players' attitudes. Mahrez hasn't wanted to be here for the best part of two seasons now. Gray is a pain in the backside. Players are starting to disappear injured, which is rarely a good sign. But that doesn't automatically make Puel the right manager or even a good one, does it?

Manager is paid to get the best out of the players. He can’t. Plays Albrighton at right back FFS.

I seem to recall inviting you to one that you couldn't make. The 606 tournaments were all 11-a-side though. We tried to join a league out in Enderby but we were useless and it ended up being too much hassle to organise so we gave it up.

There hasn't been anything proper in several years though. And probably for the best because we just kept going downhill, goalkeeper or no.


Incidentally, one of the old Leicester 606 team is in the final of Only Connect tonight. Used to post here under the name FoxesTom8. I think I'm the only one of the team who still posts though.

I think that was the one where we discussed appropriate footwear for the type of pitch to be used and mine wasn’t of the desired brand. I could have been there otherwise as I’d called beforehand. Then there was the one in the London area that was proposed by the Spurs fan. That one never got going, mind you it was when things were heated on here...

The 6-a-side in London I remember being proposed and I was willing to try to put a team together for that; never heard any more about it though and it was discussed just before I went on a summer holiday anyway.

I’m pretty sure the spurs lads did have a match and a few lads from other boards went.
