Commentator in the darts just said that Rob Cross will be vexed that he was winning 4-1 and now he’s losing 5-4.

This show is proof that you can stick to the comic storylines and characters and still made a high quality product. There was no race swapping or forcing female empowerment or any other agenda, it felt more organic and real.

4za the clown, once again moving his mouth before his brain has got out of bed

The show had several strong female characters and they had arguably more shine than the males. However, it wasn't forced and it felt genuine. You would know this of course, if you'd bothered to actually watch the show.

Best episode of the season.

X men 97 - Spoiler Talk:

Where do we start with this phenomenal season finale. The opening scene of Xavier and Magneto talking within the latter's head was excellently done, as were the proceeding scenes, between the two icons. They done a terrific job at outlining the differences between their perspectives whilst also returning to what unites them, which is their friendship and past. The backdrop to them, was the X men fighting off Bastion, in some of the best action animated scenes we have seen. Rogue's fight with Bastion in particular was a stand out moment. As the war waged on, we saw the reactions from the rest of the planet, which was a perfect gateway for a plethora of cameos, my favourite being Peter and MJ from the 90s animated series. As Bastion and Sinister were eventually defeated, another problem surfaced, which was the trajectory of Asteroid M. I loved how the music changed to an ominous version of the intro, as it reflected the tension that was palpable at that moment. Ultimately, Xavier was able to save Magneto's mind and the master of magnetism was able to stop the asteroid from hitting earth. I thought this was a nice reference to the start of the season, where Magneto carried the UN council to space. However, the surprises didn't stop there. With the final scene and the post credits playing out as they did, season 2 has the potential to eclipse season 1. Bastion and Sinister were commendable villains but with Apocalypse now entering the arena, the stakes have been elevated, considerably.

What they have done with this entire show has been staggering. I was excited for season 1 but my expectations were surpassed by a sizeable distance. The voice acting, writing and story, action, music, character designs and overall animation were stupendous.

This was X men 97 season 1. Remember it.

Season 1 awards:
Favourite episode: 10
Favourite Character: Magneto
Favourite Scene: Magneto and Xavier's struggle within his head.

Brilliant show all round. I did like the choice of Bastion as the main villain, someone more obscure to start with and building up the Apocalypse and the like.

Favourite Scene: Genosha just before the sentinel attack. The whole staging of that scene was just brilliant.

I thought Xavier gonna kiss Magneto at one point

Now we know why Guv loved that scene. Zero females in it
