Sonaofa?!!! you gonna blame the Editors! The damn cheek! The Gall of the guy! Facking actors!
This is a quote from, one of the actors that played one of the Detectives, in Morbius…

‘ First of all, Morbius: not as bad as everybody is making it out to be. Sure, it had problems and they diced it up quite a bit. I had some hilarious lines that were cut out of that movie. I was very funny...I got butchered in that thing. I think that’s what they did. They just really…because of COVID, they just had so much time to mess with it. They really messed with it’

Fack you, Al Madrigal.

Avatar was mostly for the 3D technology. Visually it still remains stunning
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He’s got 4 films coming out doesn’t he?
All coming out at xmas time over the next few years.
Other studios need to run far away, cos, JC whatever you think of his films, go straight into the Billions.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Seems like they're trying to build a universe out of it...I'll be intrigued to see what they do with it
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If they are properly filmed in 3d, I'll definitely see them at the cinema.. kept meaning to go see fantastic beasts too actually, but my schedule hasnt worked for it so far (I like to go during school hours, when it's nice and quiet)

On Avatar, I thought it was a decent film and the technology and visuals at the time were stunning. I've watched the movie 3 times in total but It's not a movie that I'd be in a rush to watch again.

I am intrigued about Avatar 2 and depending on how the trailer looks, it's probably one of the handful of movies rhis year, that I'll be watching in the cinema.

String loves Morbius about as much as he loves reporting fake news

posted on 30/4/22

No, what I do love is the shenanigans behind the scenes. This movie is a mess right. And this guy is talking about being funny… as a detective, who is tracking down a blood sucking vampire dude.
It’s like, why are you playing it for laughs when everyone else is serious, makes no sense.
But the director/ producers said yeh, do your thing.

And then he blames the Editors, for cutting him.
, i am enjoying the fallout of this.
Their PR team even came out and said, it’s a hit, cos they’ve made a profit.

83 million is the budget, they are at 157 million as of now. So I guess the 2x the budget rule does not apply here.. well announce Morbius 2 Jonny big balls, I dare yer

posted on 30/4/22

Morbius is highly unlikely to have made a profit.

Also the rule is now 2.5x production budget because commercial campaigns are generally more expensive than 20 years ago.

There is also a much less lucrative home media market - it's no longer the early 2000s where you could get away with selling DVDs individually for £15 each.

posted on 30/4/22

So, Universal probably got 60-65 per cent of the box office, the rest going to theatres.

Which means $95m or so maybe went to them.

Production budget is $80m and marketing was probably at least $50-60m with the delays etc, likely more.

No way has it turned a profit

posted on 30/4/22

It’s a play on words NPE. They didn’t say profit, they said hit. Whatever that means.
They must’ve spent another 20m on this PR team, cos they trying really hard.
But if I was one of the Editors on that film, I’d find Al myself and punch him in the gob for the disrespect. So the Director had no say in that no? The Execs had no say no? But throw the Editors under the bus why don’t you.
He just overtook Corden on the list
I’m taking it personally.

We all know it was pushed back to see the results of this trial!

Frankly they should have seen enough already.

The other security dude was great too

"Has Mr Depp given you gifts of $8500?"
"He's given me a LOT more than that!!" <Rofl>

"Would you say you are loyal to Mr Depp?"
"Of course I am, I'd be loyal to you if you were paying my wages"

Also:

"I was a bit busy smuggling two dogs"
"I think I'd remember if Mr Depp had his Manhood out"
