Oh and a question about her kids. So in the alternate timeline, she actually has kids but how? Vision is a cyborg, how were produced? In the current universe, they were all in her head.

I don't think they cucked the Illuminati.. she never fights them all at once for a start.. she only really even fights two of them.. Wanda in the comics is EXTREMELY powerful, we've seen this on screen too with her kicking Thanos around.. the Darkhold just makes her that much more powerful.. I don't know why people expect mediocre heroes to be able to compete with her RR/CC are by no means in the same class as Captain Marvel, Wanda, Thor, Vision etc.. and the Darkhold puts her some way above everyone else..

To me this bit didn't make sense, and I get the feeling a few people just didn't like seeing fan favourites get dunked on..

There are SOME issues with the film, but I think it's great they tried something different, I don't feel strange was sidelined in the final fight and I can't really see why people haven't grasped that the established hero films are almost all ensembles now.. it makes sense, they have links and friendships and connections to call upon.. not to mention that even on this thread we have had people ask "Why didn't one of the avengers turn up to help" with regards to films and TV shows..

Its not the batman by any means, but it's still better than any of Nolan's offerings..

There was definitely an issue with the power scaling, in that Carter should have been dispatch ridiculously quickly if she's able to take down X so quickly and anti-climatically. I liked Krasinski as RR but you can tell he was green-screened in separately, which affected what they could do with the character.

I was also frustrated with how stupid they were in the moment, but apparently in the comics they're arrogant and dumb all the time so I guess that tracks okay.

Thing is, you can't really compare Xavier and Captain Carter.. two completely different battles..

Carter gets saved multiple times because Marvel takes Wanda's attention, or attacks when she's focused on carter... They just effectively attack her together, I didn't even think Carter did that well, she never looked capable of winning and it always seemed more about survival to me, on the first real chance Wanda gets to counter her she's cut in half..

By comparison Xavier isn't at all physical, has no assistance and is attempting to mentally imprison her, now sure id expect him to beat Wanda like that, but she's been taken over by the Darkhold, an artifact of immense power..

It's really like comparing apples and oranges, which is why it annoys me that people get hung up on it

Black bolt didn't stand a chance, because Wanda had the drop on him and he killed himself, he was warned and arrogantly attempted to kill her anyway, which is what started the fight, Wanda had neutralised him peacefully, she was the victim because Reed then attacks her..

As for Rey, she's an awful character from the first film she appears in..

She learns Jedi mind tricks whilst strapped to a table, completely by accident.. the biggest Mary Sue in film..

Don't forget she can heal with the Force and is now a Skywalker apparently.

This is a universe where Thanos never snapped his fingers and was at least 5 years ahead of 616 in development.
