Quite frankly, I'd only expect stick from United fans and to their credit, they can given their feats.

But how on earth these clubs from down south think they can mock us is pretty embarrassing.

In reality, no club from London has ever amounted to anything of note - and that is a truth that gotta hurt.

Spurs to win

You wouldn't get Wummed if you didn't spend all Summer insulting our clubs and saying we are in decline and going to finish above us when in fact all three of us finished above you last season and have a better first XI and squad (Arsenal exempt)

no matter what happens today, we'll still be ahead of those n.london clubs anyway

If we beat United today then I will not WUM them, because I can't recall one United fan acting up on our board etc and insulting us. I actually find the genuine Mancs (UnitedRedMacca etc) far more respectful towards our club, fans and what we have achieved then the average Liverpool fan. They know we are a good side and realise football existed before the 70s and 80s

Win,lose or draw Pompous Batman will no doubt swoop in from Gotham City and give us his words of wisdom for the day.
I wonder if he ever gets out in between saving the residents of Gotham City and serving up his self important drivel on here?

To be honest I haven't seen much abuse from United fans these days. I'm actually starting to respect them slightly most are actually here to talk football which I'm glad. As for most top London clubs (besides the mighty Brentford of course) they seem to have a more arrogant and aggressive approach to other fans and aren't really up for proper football talk.

Modest football fans are so hard to find these days...

You forgot to mention that if spurs win it just proves that all LFC fans are deluded, if it's a draw it proves that all LFC fans are deluded and if we win they'll say all LFC fans are going to be even more deluded now......

Metro in one post has just epitomised why there is very much an anti-Liverpool feeling on these boards.

I personally don't mind Liverpool that much anymore now they are no longer rivals, but some of the fans and this sense of entitlement and arrogance the fans seem to have seems to have undone all the hard work of Shankly and Paisley when they built Liverpool up from the foundations of an honest, humble working class man, a shame really but oh well, their success has tainted them

bubbles how did he 'insult'

Just because all lfc fans were generally feeling posistive in contrast to say the arsenal board, you lot thought that you should be spitefull and bitter.

its like we're not allowed to be optimisitic & if we are then we're deluded.

Batman can't make an appearance unless a post is cross posted. He is banned on the Liverpool board

Big Meech

Nobody would have a problem if you said

"I think we'll finish above Chelsea this season"

"Spurs are a good side but I feel we have a better squad and can finish above them"

"We may have overpaid for Carroll but I feel he will come good"

But when you make sweeping statements as Metro has and insult the great history of our clubs you have to expect some back.

Take Got_Better for example, he is the most optimistic fan you are likely to find, but when he calls clubs like United, Chelsea and City average (all of whom have achieved far more recently) it takes the biscuit IMO, as far as I'm concerned only a Barca fan could be that arrogant

Whilst you have been dwelling in the past over the last 20 years, the rest of us have actually been trying to do something and I don't see a problem with that.

A 2-1 would be great but can maybe see a draw. Hate to see united win, but would love them to smash the plastics today

I just think it's silly that when most people WUM it's friendly banter. When a Liverpool fan WUMs it becomes all out war.

I accept there's some idiot Liverpool fans out there but for some reason it's become the stereotype that our fans are deluded. Can't remember a genuine Liverpool fan saying 'This is our year' since the Champions League triumph.

'I think we'll finish above Chelsea this season.'

We would be mocked so much if one of us said that so how can you say that?

posted on 18/9/11

Surely we're all smart enough to know that just because 1 or 2 fans from a club say something contentious the rest of the clubs supporters don't think that way too?

Let's stop this childish stereotyping and get back to some quality banter!

Kelly Is God (U6983)

Not if you based valid reasons

i.e "We have more pace and energy in the midfield and are much better equipped to do so than last year"

Not "Chelsea are an old squad in decline".

Have reasoned debate. I have even seen Liverpool fans saying Suarez would walk into the Barca team and is better than Xavi and Iniesta, how would you not expect stick for that.

I can guarantee you, you would not find a Chelsea fan on this forum that believes we are a better team than United, whereas in June there were many Liverpool fans that did.

That is the difference, we are far more realistic

posted on 18/9/11

No I'm sorry we get mocked for some even saying we're better than Arsenal at the moment.

Don't get me wrong I would love to participate it meaningful and well thought out discussion/argument, but most Liverpool fan's views are worth nothing to other fans.

I think you're being a little biased on the whole who believes they're better than United argument. True Liverpool fans know they have to stop living in the past and that while United have only one more title than us, they're miles ahead at the moment.

You're not a better team than Arsenal, you just have a manager who knows how to win.

posted on 18/9/11

I said 'at the moment'. I keep an open mind but surely you can't argue Arsenal are better than Liverpool right now.

On paper yes, but I couldn't possibly argue that they're playing well enough to suggest they are better.
