Diawara should be
Seems more and more likely Dembele will leave. Supposedly he's been offered silly money in China.
From the sounds of things, Alderweireld and Dembele are almost certainly off, with Rose, Sissoko, Llorente, Janssen, N'Koudou, Vorm, Onomah and Lamela very possibly all following.
That's a huge number of departures from an already thin squad. It's already noticeable that the squad is threadbare beyond the first XI - the only area of the pitch where the backups are even remotely reliable is in attacking midfield.
If those ten (!) left, that would leave the following squad:
GK: Lloris, Gazzaniga
RB: Aurier, Trippier, Walker-Peters
CB: Sanchez, Foyth, Vertonghen
LB: Davies
CM: Dier, Wanyama, Winks
AM: Eriksen, Alli, Moura, Son
CF: Kane
So 17 players. That means an unprecedented number of replacements are going to be required in order for the squad to not become even thinner. Spurs would need to sign at least one centre back, one left back, one centre mid, one attacking mid and one striker - and that's the BARE minimum. And all of those (bar maybe striker) would need to be ready to slot straight into the first XI, not just hot prospects who will be good enough in 3 years' time.
Can anyone really see Spurs bringing in that many first-team ready players next season?
Obviously it's unlikely all ten of those players will leave, but it's not impossible by any stretch. At the very least it seems Alderweireld, Dembele and Rose will leave and that means Spurs need to replace 3 cast-iron first-XI players.
It's a huge summer ahead, but Spurs' recent antics in the transfer market don't inspire a huge amount of confidence...

Diawara will be quality, but again - he's only 20 years old with well under 100 starts under his belt. Is he really fit to replace Dembele at this stage? I'm not sure he's any better than De Ligt. They're both young, highly promising, similar number of club games (albeit De Ligt has several international appearances as well)... neither can really be relied on at their young ages to step straight in and improve Spurs' first XI on a weekly basis.
Spurs badly need proper first-teamers.

We don’t buy proper first team players unless they are surplus to requirements.
When I say "I'm not sure he's any better than De Ligt" I mean I'm not sure he's any more ready for Premiership football than De Ligt. Obviously I know they play in different positions.
Point is, Spurs need ready-made players, not yet more youngsters who need time to bed in and improve before they're ready to play every week. Now more than ever, given the first-teamers who are probably leaving this summer.
we only sign youngsters though
Tbh I think De Ligt is just as ready as Sanchez is if not more tbh.

Indeed. That's why I'm personally quite concerned about the summer ahead. Spurs are losing a lot of first-team quality, and I can see them lining up next season with a squad that's both extremely young and, frankly, worse than the current one.

Tbh I think younger players are more suited to Poch than the ready to go experienced ones.
Going to be a interesting summer
Have to get at least one CM who wants to get on the ball and dictate the tempo. Will free up Eriksen to create further forward.
If Dembele goes I certainly don’t want a ‘replacement’ for him. I want a shift away from what we’ve got in midfield - plenty of power but lack of creativity.
I want experience to replace Alderweireld and Rose should he leave. Any highly-rated kids we buy should be in addition to what we have, unless of course they are ready now to make a real impact like Alli did. We can’t keep on looking to develop everyone and keep waiting for them to reach their potential, we need a mix otherwise we’ll always be sat here wondering why we come up short.
