Spurs - just for the money they will generate. Chelsea have won honours though.
======
Arsenal made more money from the Europa than United made from the CL this season, or Spurs made from it last season....

It really isn't that significant a difference.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes it is!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Please explain how it is when the fact Arsenal made more than United from Europe this season has already been explained to you.
United made more from Europe last season than this.
Both Arsenal and United made more from their European campaigns than Spurs did from the Champions League last season.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
I believe you, but do you have links to figures. I'm interested to see

Arsenal €40m, United €37m

Spurs got €39m for CL and EL last season.

So EL semi final > CL last 16

Do those figures include the money you get for winning games?

If you're a football fan you'd prefer the cup, If you work upstairs you'd prefer top 4.

I was buzzing yesterday and Utd fans were obviously gutted.. You dont get these emotions finishing in the top 4 (unless you win the league obv)

Up the chels

Football is about winning trophies

Buzz I got from seeing out that cup final yesterday was more than ever finishing 3rd or 4th in a league
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Liar.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You actually feel a buzz from finishing top 4? Jesus Christ...
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Mind the gap T1T VIV
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You been enjoying preseason while teams like Chelsea, Utd and Liverpool still have games Spurs can only dream of to play?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I’ll be enjoying the World Cup and looking forward to CL football in our glorious new Staduim.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Fair Play, Big step in your clubs history but will you be like Arsenal in that you wont actually lift any silverware in that stadium?

4th and a cup is a good season. 5th, there's that disappointment. Teams like Chelsea have to be in Champions League.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Why do they?

League table says otherwise
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Because they have the squad to do it. In the end, Chelsea have missed out despite having AT LEAST the third best squad in England. The problem is that Poccetino and Klopp are better coaches. However, they still haven't won anything and Conte has two trophies!

Chelsea for me have had a better season, winning a trophy. Absolutely no argument.

Chelsea have appeared in 13 FA cup finals and won 8, thus matching Spurs fa cup wins. Only Arsenal and Man Utd have won more FA cups than Chelsea.

As a Barça fan (born, bred and living in Bcn) I am proud of winning what we've won this season but hate the fact that Madrid may (probably will) win the champions league.

I've said before that if I had to pick for Spurs it would be winning the FA Cup over a top 4 place. An FA Cup win and top 5 would be as much a sign of progress to me as CL again. Spurs have already shown that they can achieve top 4 in the previous two seasons, whereas they haven't shown they can win win a trophy, or just beat any big team in a cup competition. That's a barrier I'm more keen to break.

As an individual season? Chelsea

Looking at the bigger picture? Spurs

I'd probably still say Spurs. A trophy always puts a bit of gloss onto a season but Chelsea have had a poor league season throughout most of it and top 4 nowadays has much more value to a club than a trophy.

I'm sure anybody at the top of the club would say financially the top 4 is miles better and it attracts the better players as well. The top 4 is the building blocks for any club moving forward. Ideally, them top 6 teams want to finish in the top 4 and win a trophy.

Chelsea as a club can swallow time out of the CL - they are funded, pay huge wages and have the recent pedigree to absorb it.

A cup is always better than a 3rd place league finish, if you go with your heart.

However, as a club it will be so beneficial to us to be in the CL for another season - players will be incentivised, more money in the coffers, but most importantly the profile improves, and with this stadium to fund sponsorship will be key

Spurs have had a better season in the league yes, But when we look back to this season it will be City accumulating 100 points, Chelsea winning the cup and possibly Liverpool winning the CL.

I remember finishing 2nd to Utd in the league in 2007, 2008 and 2011 and I can tell you it wasn't satisfying.

I dont know how any football fan can undermine winning major trophy.

I never get this debate as to me its obvious that anything that gets you into the cl is better than something that doesn't.

Yesterday will be a distant memory when Chelsea are playing a team of Estonian goat herders in August.

You have to be in the completion to win it, and making numbers up in a competition is generally considered a disappointment.
