IMO many (disaster capitalists like JRM) it's for financial gain. Others are unhappy with the EU regulatory framework.

The UK is also a world leader in regard to tax avoidance, (British overseas territories) and EU anti money laundering/ tax avoidance directives will curtail many tax avoidance schemes.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Actually Hong Kong is now Chinese,Singapore and Panama are autonomous. There's the BVI and Channel Islands for the UK so I would dispute that we are World leaders in tax avoidance!

Also, why is the constant printing of debt (from thin-air) by Draghi and co to continually prop-up the failing bloc never mentioned?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

As always, not one single answer (in almost 2yrs of asking) from the Remain camp.

Oh well.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
What are you even babbling about? That isn't an EU specific issue

No one is answering because it's an irrelevant question. Are you advocating the EU only adopt a similar structure to finite crypo currency? (Unlike all other fiat currencies)

If not "leaders" certainly prominent, as highlighted by the Panama papers.

Ironically the 2019 eu tax avoidance directive will be a prerequisite for a potential UK FTA with the EU.

We are still world leaders in tax avoidance in terms of keeping companies offshore for the purpose of avoiding tax in the country where the profit is actually made.

Hence the desperation from the likes of JRM and other obscenely wealthy caants to get us out before the EU brings in it's new laws on tax avoidance.

Same reason many remainers seem to want the UK to fail and have become cheerleaders for people like Barnier and Juncker, the whole thing has become very tribal.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
As a EU citizen (Dutchman living in Ireland) I also would like to see the UK fail. Mainly because with the Brexit it, they created a negative impact on my two countries, Netherlands (trade) and Ireland (trade and border).

Yes, however Poland etc (often used an as example of the "failing EU narrative" ) are doing quite well.

Have a look at the IMF GDP growth for 2018 figures:

Many Brexiteers would like to see the EU fail and many Remainers would like to see the UK fail just so they can say 'I told you so'.

All pretty pathetic.

Just being honest. I never wanted the UK to leave and if you would do a poll now, UK would remain.

So yes, I want the UK to fail, just so all these gobsheites will understand the magnitiude of their error. Although, they are probably so dense they will deny any failure of the UK post EU even if it is spitting them right in the face

Don’t think it’s in anyone’s interests for the UK, nor the EU to “fail.” As an economic downturn to either will have a knock on effect with trading partners.

The UK government has chosen to leave the EU’s internal (single) market and it’s CU. And as a substitute seek to negotiate a FTA.

A FTA by its very nature is a second tier trading relationship when compared to an internal market. And therefore significantly inferior to current arrangements. Simply because a FTA cannot cover every area of the UK economy like the SM does.

Which is why Brexit will be economically damaging to the UK. *And* EU member states.
