Conte is here to see out his contract.
We're turning into Arsenal!
I like Sarri, and the quality of football he's deployed at Napoli means he could be a great appointment if it works out.
That said, if he's confirmed it's going to be a big departure in terms of playing style from your last two managers.
Do Chelsea fans consider they have the players to deploy his style of football, or that he'll be given the necessary time (and funds) to shape the squad?
Or would the expectation be that he adapts his style to the personnel he's given to work with?
£8m isn't exactly penny pinching.
Saw something similar about this last night on a channel called Blue Lions TV. Just hope this doesn't drag on.

He'll be given time to get the right players in to play his system.. That usually takes 2-3 transfer windows so I could see alot of the more limited players moved on (Zappacosta, Drinkwater, Pedro, Willian, Giroud)
It would be rude to pay for something when you can get it for nothing by being patient. Good business sense.
Chavy, from what I've seen at Napoli, I actually think guys like Willian and Pedro could suit his style. They like to play out from the back and hold the ball in midfield, but they're generally quite quick in the final third.
Willian is better suited to counter attacking rather than a slow build up, He skips by players with ease on the counter but he struggles against teams that sit deeper. I also feel Willian to Utd could be already done.
Pedro could be used in this system I agree but hes like what 30/31 now?

That's the big question. As I see it we'll need 2 CM's, a CB with pace, a LB probably, and a clinical CF. Two of those could be Zouma & Bats.
Not optimistic we'll give him the right targets straight away, but am optimistic that we'll give him time. We can't give him this squad and expect his philosophy to click right away, we can't be that stupid
It took Guardiola a full season to get the right players in even though they already had Kompany, Otamendi, Fernandinho, Silva, De Bruyne and Aguero.
When Sarri comes in he will of course need a season to realize what players he can depend on and what player need shifted on...
Next season wont bring any trophies as it will literally be a transitional period unless the board surprise us with a couple of big players.

It all depends on how he's looked after himself, I suppose.
He was a bit of a late bloomer iirc, and has spent plenty of his career on the bench.
It might take longer for us cos City at least had the right components in midfield. Sarri will need to form a spine, bar the GK Pep already had his.
I'm excited. I like Sarriball, tiki taka with a twist, it's beautiful. Fingers crossed we give him the support he will need, we CAN'T do a Conte with him.
Advocate yes the club would have to back Sarri 100% for this to work you feel. Hopefully Sarri will seek and be given solid assurances for that otherwise he may well run into the same issues that Conte did.

Sarri could end up at Zenit. There is no concrete evidence that Sarri will join Chelsea. In fact there are plenty of rumours linking him with the Zenit job.
Luis Enrique seems to be the favourite with the bookies atm
Luis Enrique 2/1
Sarri 5/2
Conte (remaining) 5/1
Brenda Rogers 6/1
Leonardo Jardim 10/1
Max Allegri 14/1
Not a fan of Rudiger?
--------------------------------------------------------
An additional one. Cos of Sarri's high line and the issues that historically has in the PL we'll need at least three.

True, Italy reports saying he’s sitting on a big offer from Zenit, and seem to suggest Ancelotti is v close if not already signed for Napoli
I think Marina Gravionska is completely right here.Women are generally more wise and economical in money matters and averse to spending big amounts of money than men almost always.

I read somewhere that he'd turned Zenit down. Think it was an Italian source too.
Not strictly true TDAA, Sarri had Albiol as mainstay CB and made it work.
That should tell you speed isn't essential in highline.
I'd back most of our defenders to beat him in a sprint.
Competent reading of the game ability (speed of thought) is absolutely vital (the most important aspect) in highline, possessing footspeed is a bonus.
I seen a few italian sources stating that Sarri rejected a €8m per year deal to join Zenit.
He wants Chelsea and Chelsea want him.
PL has quicker forwards than Serie A. It's not absolutely essential cos Napoli's defence form a bank when they loss possession, but the hoof from over the top could be an issue (the Leicester style).
But yeah, first and foremost they need to be good defenders
Christensen will really like Sarri. One of the biggest things to look forward too about the move.
