"Real Madrid are infinitely better than anything Liverpool have faced in the CL this season"

They really aren't, luck was on their side versus both Juve and Bayern. Their form in La Liga has seriously deteriorated and their best players are pretty far off their form the past 2 years.

They have experience and confidence on their side, but Liverpool have many attributes to hurt them.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Much luckier against Bayern than against Juve, to be fair.

What's overlooked in both cases is that we beat both sides on their own patch, extremely clearly by all accounts in Juve's case.

In Bayern's case, they played by far the better football, but it's also interesting to note that they were unable to hold onto a lead in both matches.

Against both sides though, we had the mental edge of having beaten them both last year.

We haven't faced Liverpool under Klopp, so we won't have that on them going into the final.

Better than City?
------------
I think so, especially in this competition, yes they have had a few iffy games as have liverpool, but have turned it on when they've needed it, I think they knew a long time ago the league was gone to barce and the league performances showed that
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Maybe their experience is better but they're not a better team. Especially not defensively. We're better than them defensively.

Madrid will be favorites and rightly so.

They've been there and done it. Won the last 2 CLs. They have World Cups winners in their team, European Championship winners. These players are used to playing on the biggest stage and the biggest games.

And then of course they have Ronaldo, who's been on sensational goal scoring form since the turn of the year.

And yet I think we have a chance because Madrid can be got at. Munich proved it and Real Madrid really rode their luck.

Our attack is quick, skillful and direct. We're a goal threat and that gives us a genuine shot at this.

My personal opinion; I saw how nervous some of our players looked in the semi and I just think that Real Madrid might be a bit too canny and a bit too experienced so I'd give them the edge. That said, I go into the game genuinely believing we have a good chance.

If Madrid do win, I hope Ronaldo scores the winner. He deserves it

I think Pool will win, and that's fine with me. If they do they will deserve the plaudits. And one good thing about football is that there is always next season.

What about next season? I hope you are not insinuating we have a chance to win the champs league with the boring one in charge

It would also wind so many people up.

I still cringe at the memory of his shirt-off celebration of his 120th-minute penalty to make it 4-1 against Atlético in 2014.

Haha yeah, he loves the limelight. I guess from his perspective he has dedicated his life to that moment, more so than any other professional.

Yeah, when will that boy finally get the recognition he deserves.

What he really deserves is a bit more glory. Aside from being lauded as one of the greatest players ever and winning a eye-watering number of prestigious awards, he's really been starved of glory.

Can't deny that.

If he scores, it'll leave him just one shy of Di Stefano's record of scoring in 5 finals (albeit Di Stefano did it consecutively! )

In fairness they've played PSG, Juve and Bayern in the knock out rounds though where as you've played Porto, Roma n City.

Liverpool have conceded 5 to Sevilla and 6 to Roma over two games. That won't be good enough versus Madrid. They'll have to defend much much better as this is the first genuine top European team you've faced all season. City aren't quite there in the CL for whatever reason despite the PL form.

Everything points to a Madrid win which is why I think Liverpool will win.

Madrid have that big game winning mentality and always seem to win no matter what league form they have.

I hope we don’t give them respect and attack and press them as they are not used to that. Bayern missed a hat full of chances I hope we convert ours.

Heart is pumping today can’t wait for tomorrow

Easily comparable to either.
Our defence was better than City's for the last 29 games of a 38 game premier league season.
And in terms of clean sheets, City had 18, we had 17.
We also conceded less goals than Madrid, in a much more competitive league.
So not that much of a stretch to be fair.

From the time that VVD joined us Liverpool has the BEST defensive record in the league and Karius (with 0.7) has the best goals conceded/game ratio in the league

Things like retaining the CL in its current format just didn't happen until last season either.

As I see it the final could go either way. Both sides hold clear advantages over the other in certain areas. Personally, I find it impossible to predict which of those aspects will eventually tip the scales.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I think it'll be 3-1 Madrid but with us dominating a chunk of the game. They just have so many players that have been there and done it, that know how to win, that I think it will be enough for them. I think that the one thing we can guarantee is goals.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

We're still essentially the same side that struggled against Klopp's Dortmund sides.

We're obviously more experienced now, but we always had trouble adapting to their game and pace, and our key players are undeniably ageing.

On pure footballing terms you'v got the upper hand, imo. We have experience and individual quality.

All in all, it seems finely balanced although, somewhat ironically, you still can't discount either side blowing the other way depending on how heavily each of the factors at play weigh come the night.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
fair point IOAG

but Liverpool are not as good as that Dortmund team imo..not even close ..esp in the critical midfield dept
