Florida can be amazing, just a few things to watch out for, Hurricanes, Sinkholes, Sharks, Alligators, Armadillos with leprosy(more people contract leprosy in Florida than any other state), highest rate of fatal shooting through road rage, lots of old people driving slow but apart from that, enjoy

Alligators aint half as bad as what people think. They very rarely target humans and are usually very shy and afraid of us. They normally average i think 4 deaths a year in Florida. Crocs are a complete different thing tho, they would have you in a heartbeat. I also think that once they get to a certain size they are either killed or moved? is this right?

They usually try to relocate them, unless they are a serial killer and they will be destroyed.
The American Croc is actually less aggressive than the Alligator

We're going in September for our 8th "once in a lifetime trip"
We're doing 8 nights at a Universal's new Aventura hotel and then moving on to a Villa at the Solterra resort for 15 nights.
The biggest piece of advice I'd give is try to go for as long as possible, it's an exhausting holiday and having rest days is pretty essential in my opinion.

Don't bother queuing for space mountain or the dwarves mine train- nor bother using your fast passes on them. Both are crap.
Best rides are at Universal Studios, Disneyworld is more themed for younger kids I suppose.
However Epcot has a couple of good things. Design your own roller coaster and ride it's simulation. The Chevrolet car ride at Epcot is superb too.
Harry Potter and stuff at universal is really really good

Stevie G - I would also recommend a helicopter tour when you are about the Universal area, on I-Drive actually. There were about 8 different routes and allows you to see loads from the air. Highly recommended

That reminds me of my Mrs most blonde moment.
We walked past the Helicopter on idrive and I said to her that I fancy doing the helicopter tour, and she replied and I kid you not, "aye but it's a bit of a rip off coz it'll only take a minute to see the inside of the helicopter"

AyeI thought a month was too long when we first went, but it really took the pressure to "do everything" off.
If you are going for a couple of weeks, maybe don't try to "do everything" in one trip, but go back again. Otherwise you might come back needing another holiday!

A month? jebus thats a long time.
I went for 11 days last year. 2 days at Disney, 2 at universal, 3 golfing, loads of time in the pool and drinking beer and eating meat.

Aye, we learned the hard way, did 13 parks in 14 days when it was just me and the missus, great trip but there was no down time at all.
We gradually increased our length of stay from 14 days up to 28 last year, now with 2 kids even 28 days was exhausting.
I actually find it doesn't really add that much more to the cost as long as you make those extra days chill by the pool and order a pizza type days, but then again I work for myself so I don't need to get holidays approved from work.
Have you got ankle biters ? If you have you will have a brill time , went 3 times in the 90s when my lads were young they loved it as we did too, it one of those holidays you need kids to enjoy it more , having a villa is the nuts too , loved that part too
Epcot is brilliant. Went three times last time we went.
Food, rides, food and the firework/light show is the best. Plus be around the Italian bit for the street show/juggler.
Then eat and drink your way around.
I’m going to exactly the place in 6 weeks 😎

12 of us going in August, all staying in a villa at champions gate.Should be fun.
Got park tickets at floridatix, 9 day combo for Disneyland and universal with fast track included, not cheap, cost me £1700 for 3 of us. Paid a deposit of £30 and paid rest of in instalments.
Tilted kilt is awful Zico, don’t even sell Tennents, just another pasty type of Hooters. Wee mini tartan kilts, you see that on Sauchihall St for free every weekend.

11 of us going in august too.
Played golf at champions gate last year and it was fairly pathetic. They big themselves up as a Greg Norman designed highly regarded golf resort, but the course was in terrible condition. Picturesque, yes, but saturated with water and a lot of homes totally unplayable.
Add to that that our round included lunch at the club house and when we arrived they said they were booked out for a wedding so we'd have to sit at the bar and have a sandwich and a bag of crisps. For a course that prides itself in being a rather snooty posh high end gold experience it was worse than any municipal I've played.
