What a waste of money.

Would love Mahrez to sign for us but I think that fee is £15m too excessive. Although in today's market thats loose change for the likes of City. City look frightening already

Seriously, what is the point of City signing Mahrez?

posted on 30/5/18

Bad move for both partie really unless he replaces Sterling? 75 million for a player who doesn't want to play for us is a cracking piece of business by Leicester though.

What happened to this amazing Sheety academy which Pep was going to create a new Barca with?

seems bizarre if true. Sane, sterling, aguero, silva, kdb, jesus, silva, gundogan and any im forgetting like foden.

For 5 positions.

That's Foden's development at City facked then. Maybe Sterling's too.

In a way I can see the sense in it, in that it's always difficult for teams to defend titles and by doing this City are freshening up the team.

City do not look anymore frightening than last season.

will Mahrez do a better job than Sterling and Sane did last season??

i very much doubt it.

they arent improving the players they have imo, just strengthening the depth.

Foden doesn’t play the same position as Mahrez so why is he “facked”

It would be Mahrez, Sane and Sterling competing for 2 positions

City will be just fine. If I supported Leicester, I'd be more worried about how he's going to be replaced.

There's no way Pep is going to let a young English player break into the first team with his penchant for throwing big money around.

Yeah looks a good transfer to me and Sterling can play centrally and left too which gives tactical flexibility plus cover on both wings.

It's great. It's all about armchair economists and Academy under utilisation. All hiding from '...sheet, we've got to play these lot next season!'

posted on 30/5/18

I think he'll replace sterling, ridiculous as it sounds with the season he had but I have a sneaky feeling guardiola doesn't think of sterling as ruthless enough with the chances he has, cant see them paying that much for a 2nd string option

posted on 30/5/18

Anyone could play in that city team, we will see sterling for his actual quality in the world cup i am sure

To be fair Mahrez is a different type of player to Sterling. He's trickier in confined areas which is what City need given that everyone is going to park the bus next season (even more so than last season).

Absolute top player and the best to ever wear the Leicester City shirt. It will be a sad day when he leaves and that day appears to be edging ever closer.

I can't see how we can replace of such mercurial talent - lightning doesn't often strike twice.

He is worth the season ticket money on his own and is the one player we have who genuinely excites you every time he gets the ball.

He has been brilliant for us but he deserves this move to try and succeed on a bigger stage and I won't criticise him for it.

£75m in this day and age is good value and I expect he will show the Man City fans he is worth every penny.

Thanks Riyad.

So Foden is “facked” because we’re potentially signing a player who doesn’t even play the same position, and your follow up to being challenged on that is some rambling shizzle I wouldn’t be surprised to read on the back page of the Daily Mail after we lose a game.

Foden is a few years away from being ready to fully break into the first team from what I’ve seen so far. I expect he will continue his development under Pep at a sensible rate, and when the time comes, Pep along with his penchant for throwing big money around will likely be somewhere else.

David Silva, Bernardo Silva, Gundogan n KDB are what Foden has to get past. And when David Silva leaves they will buy somebody else anyway.

City's academy players are going to find it hard to get a regular place for sure. The club is more interested in playing fantasy football chasing the most expensive CL trophy in history.

posted on 30/5/18

I’ve a feeling that Sterling will leave.

posted on 30/5/18

Bernardo is playing more to the right, Guardiola as already said David Silva will play less often next season (as will Aguero). Gundogan has started playing more in Fernandinhos position. Foden will have plenty of opportunities.

He only turned 18 a couple of days ago, he is not going to be starting every week and nor should he. Seems to be the new thing where people think young players have to play every week, that can have a detrimental impact as much as a positive one.

posted on 30/5/18

Physically he’s not ready to play every week anyway. Was put out for a while following the Leicester cup game.

Mahrez and Jorginho to City Chelsea could learn a thing or two on how to improve your squad after a title win.
