He WAS world class. He is now too old to play football, how many more over 30s do we need and he will soon be 38? How much money would he be on? I would rather have a player on the way up, maybe we should look at Tranmere's centre halves.
Player/coach.
Think 'outside the box'
Well I would rather John Terry at the club than some half soaked wannabe like Tom Lawrence.
Cue Scouse.
But will it be Lawrence or JT he slags off ?
I don't get the Anti Lawrence brigade. He's a quality player. End of.
As for Terry ... his influence could be massive off the pitch.
Like the anti Martin Brigade, the anti Russell brigade and the anti Keogh brigade, they are all stupid or blind or deluded. We even had an anti Hughes brigade. Haters got to hate.
I like Keogh and Russell, I really like Martin and Hughes, but I don’t like what I’ve seen so far of Tommy. I hope this doesn’t make me the 3 things Spart mentioned. Why shouldn’t people have opinions of players, have we all got to agree with Spart?
Lawrence is quality? Really. Give me a single example and I'll give you ten when he's been Dire.
If it's deluded you want, then giving Lawrence a standing ovation when he's been little more than average in a match.
I hope Lampard doesn't play him and gives chance to young lads who are proud and privileged to be pro footballers.
I saw most of Lawrence's games last season and I saw absolutely nothing to suggest he's worthy of the shirt. Garbage.
Whilst I'm at it, I admire Keogh's attitude. I do not rate him in any footballing capacity. He has forged a lucrative career at Derby by being passionate. He's produced very little and had been part of a failing team for five years. I've not been quite as critical as 666, but my posts are consistent. Time to say bye bye. Same for Craig Forsyth.
Jonny Russell was too attacking for Derby. That's why Rowett was happy to see him go. Bet he wish he'd stayed now.

Lawrence possesses the quality he just hasn’t applied it much in a Derby shirt yet, but I still don’t believe we have played to his strengths and can see him in the Vydra role should he go.
People are funny, the things they say sometimes.
You are right, the thought of Tommy in the Vydra role made me chuckle. Can anyone see him scoring a quarter of Vydra’s goals? They say we are hard up and blow it on him!
Why couldn’t he play there? Please elaborate...
I don't believe any of the current squad would want to leave now that the new Management team has been announced.
If I played for Derby and was considering leaving after what happened last season, I would now have changed my mind.
My comment wasn’t directed at you Tommo. I agree that Lawrence looks better in a more central position. It’s where he has been effective for Wales. But I think he could play like Pele and he wouldnt win some of us over. Once fans have decided to take against a player they rarely feel inclined to revise their judgment.
The fact that MistaKeogh has won two Jack Stamps' makes me want to puke.
The further fact that you mugs have voted him as your favourite player TWICE should show that we're the most empathetic group of supporters in the world when one considers his complete lack of footballing talent, and yet Pride Park is one of the most toxic environs in the world.
S'funny old game, huh?

Vydra didn't score a quarter of the goals he scored last season the previous two seasons. Judging by how he finished this season I don't see him being as devastating next season. He is a player who seems to blow hot and cold. I think most fans are of the opinion that we would be better cashing in on him before he goes on another goal drought.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
AJ I want you to list all the bad games Lawrence had and why he was so bad. You and I seem to occupy a different universe.
I don't hate anyone, but I do enjoy winding-up Ang.
Tom Lawrence played the equivalent of 36 full Championship matches last season, scoring 6 times, and was top for assists with 7. His passing success rate was 75.6%, and he scores once every six matches on average.
They're not great reading for an attacking forward who cost as much as he did, however it should be remembered that he was in a quite defensive Rowett side that collectvely produced little excitement in the attacking third; in an expansive side (as we're all hoping Lampard's will be) he could be an absolute revelation. There's a player in there somewhere I think, and hopefully Lamps and Morris will get the best from him; you'd have to have some fcking ego to not take heed when Lampard speaks, especially if you hold ambitions of playing in the same kind of position as a footballer as he did!
For what it's worth, Kasey Palmer played the equivalent of five matches (although mainly as a late sub and when chasing games) and scored twice with one assist, with a better passing success rate of 77.8%. I'd like to see what he could do given a run in an attacking side but Lawrence is ours so should get the first dibs in that No 10 role; rather improve our asset than Chelsea's!
Lawrence scored more in his first season than Vydra did then. All he needs is to improve that final ball, the cross or the shot that creates something. The same could have been said for all our wide players over the past 10 years. Only Ince in his final season with us did so with any consistency.
Talking of which what is the state of play regarding GT?
Spart,
666 has provided some stats - but it doesn't tell the whole story. The reason that football scouts exist, is because you can't accurately assess a player without actually watching him play.
With the exception of two or three games this season, Lawrence has been poor. His positioning and reading of the game is almost none existent. He can't tackle and gives away needless free kicks. He is dreadful in the air. He wasted so many free kicks that I lost count. He received a standing ovation for the one free kick that I would consider to be dangerous (I think it was at home to QPR).
Lawrence is also weak - easily disposessed and lightweight. We will never recoup the 7 million we spent on him. He isn't Ronaldo and should stop trying to kick the ball like he does.
He has basically been paid a shed load of money for one outstanding International performance.
21 goals in 133 games - is a crap statistic but not a surprise to me. Clearly I am in the minority on here. 36 games is a lot of chances to shine - he hasn't as far as i'm concerned. I only went to three away games this season, Birmingham, Hull & Wolves. Lawrence was dire in all three of them.
Seems as though opinion is divided on this one. The best thing in these situations is to continue to repeat entrenched positions, if possible with increasing exaggeration of our stances on successive posts. That'll teach people.
Sorry but I don't recognise anything you say other than he isn't Ronaldo. I know this because I have seen both of them and you are 100% correct in what you say.
I go to Pride Park to watch the football. Wonder where you go?
He hasn't been a resounding success but did better in his first season with us than Vydra did. He has good control and reasonable pace and a decent shot when he gets it right. I just don't see that he is as awful as you say.
Because you don't 'recognise' what I say, doesn't mean I'm wrong.
Of course I go to Pride Park to watch football. I have not enjoyed watching Tom Lawrence at all this season and frankly I'm bored of wondering if he'll turn up every week.
