Dont be discriminatory.
they could take up any winter or extreme sport
Wonder what excuses England managers will use next.
What has it really changed though?
Not every PL club makes the 4th round of the FA Cup nowadays anyway i.e. Stoke for example. Fair enough, it gives teams an extra chance to get some rest time, but by that time the Christmas period has elapsed and teams will normally rotate their squads for the FA Cup 3rd/4th/5th round fixtures anyway to accommodate this.
Not only this, but it will take away even more significance and priority of the FA Cup, because the teams that play the weekend before the FA Cup round, providing they are still there) are likely to change their entire squad even more. So they've basically accommodated a weeks extra rest which might not be beneficial for some clubs and it's potentially decreased the importance of the FA Cup as well.
Wouldn't be surprised if it's more been done for a financial deal tbh. Would bet that at least 4/5 of them games at the weekend will be live on TV, if not all 5 with 3 games being on a Sunday dinner/afternoon.
Next poor champions league showing.
‘But the winter break made my players rusty’
Copying them softy Europeans again, when will we learn.
How long till they start playing friendlies in the break?
That's why Belgium will win the world cup this year and England can't. Because the Belgish league get a winter break, so all of their players are fresh for the world cup. English players don't get a winter break so will be tired.

Medical evidence compiled by Linkoping Uni for Uefa and acknowledged by leading managers highlighted that PL players 4x more likely to suffer injury in March, April, May than in those leagues which have a mid-season break. Important that clubs don't fly off for friendlies.

Should limit squad sizes now then, no need for all these extra guys now that the top players will be injured less.
That loan farm thing Chelsea do is terrible for football as a whole.

Half of the Belgium national squad play in fking England anyway!
Courtois, Kompany, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Fellaini, De Bryune, Hazard, Lukaku, Chadli etc are all the one's off the top of my head. That doesn't include Benteke either and even Batshuayi. That's over half of the 23 man squad.

he also claimed the list of 11 players he gives is "over half" of the Belgium squad, when, in fact it is LESS than half of the 23 person squad.
