They were better in the end, but that was mainly due to our game management - which is a lot due to inexperience both from the players and the manager.
As long as we keep improving and learn from these lessons we should do alright
This England side are very young and were against and old and Wiley Croatia midfield
As well as they being more skilful
Good age for England for improvement

Exactly my feeling. This is only this squad of players’ first World Cup. Providing we qualify of course, this team is young enough that they should come back stronger in 4 years.
You had 6 shots on target in 10 hours of open play. That's not good enough

No other team will improve.
That actually does make sense Brosmic. Wow, I never even considered that!
Some teams will get better, some will get worse, but I do think this England team is one who’s on the up.
The game should have been done and dusted by half-time.The game plan and management in the 2nd half wasn't good enough,we let Croatia off of the hook !
England were slightly better in the first half, but to say they "dominated" is a stretch. Less possession, 4 shots and only 1 shot on target. I thought the Croatian midfielders were too far from the attackers leaving them isolated. In the 2nd half, Croatia got more runners closer to the box and the wide players stretched the play a bit more. England didn't adapt.

Yep...lack of tactical subs on the 60 min mark may have cost us
Strangely we see this at Chelsea all too often too...Rueben and Rashford should have come on for Hen do and Alli
Exactly sheriff dude, Croatia couldn’t cope with England in the first half but they adapted. Then it was England who could cope with Croatia in the second half, but we never adapted. The tactics were the big difference, our team was not worse than that Croatia team though. I absolutely believe that.
Brosmic this is making more and more sense to me. You need to take this to the Daily Mail! People need to know about this.
in four years our team will go out in the groups regardless of how good they are.
we can barely handle 25 degree heat, quatar will beat us before weve even started.

At least you have the 2018 semi-finals to look back on.
Southgate not good enough tactically to adapt - only knew one way of playing with this England side. It was obvious that they were outnumbering us on the flanks but he never did anything about it.

England's starting XI had an average age of just under 26 (I think) ... Croatia's was 29. Not THAT huge a gap, in all honesty.
Croatia were also playing their third extra-time in a row, having come out of a "Group of Death" involving Aregntina, Nigeria and Iceland. England had played ET once, had the luxury of resting their entire first XI for the Belgium game, and played 2 warm up gimme group games prior to that against arguably the 2 worst sides at the WC. Yet Croatia looked the fitter side the longer the SF went. Youth didn't seem to help there?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah, Croatia surprised me with how much energy they had. They didn’t seem to tire whereas England did. Kind of wondering why that was the case.
