He’s a growing lad so no point updating it just now

I always thought he was a cb myself but either way, Gerrard clearly sees him as a cm going forward and imo that’s his best position

tie over and, fingers crossed, every scottish team past round 1 in how long??

however, nay way any scottish team is winning anything in europe and any in the group stages will still be a massive task

As a rangers fan, I wouldn’t say the tie is over personally. Possibly a tad pessimistic but it ain’t over till it’s over

watch the motionflow on the 4k - great for footy, sport and movies but every other thing looks like a 70s mexican sitcom unless you turn it off!

Will be interesting to see this Gers team against any sort of quality opposition.

At the moment is impossible to say how good they are, in the same fashion that England fans has no idea how good/poor the team was until they met a decent dude in Croatia.

Just like with England the media can hype up Gerrard as much as they like but he will come unstuck when faced against quality opposition.

What I said, Smid, its been too hot for ideal growing conditions. Normally in the UK we have ideal conditions for grass,

Safe to chuck the 1000 watt hps out then?

Watched the game on Rangers TV and found several players wanting ....Candeias is not good enough to start., at best he's bench player, Windass seems to be trying more but I'm still not convinced and would take anything approaching 3m for him, Murphy is very obvious , totally right footed ..Middleton was far more effective and , at least got to the bye line, Morelos just seems to be at the same level as last season , we need a penalty box striker.
On the plus side , the defence looks good..the two CBs look strong and have good control, Flanagan is, for me , much better than John. Arfield looks the part, took an injury but will prove a great addition.
We'll go through but as Gerrard said...it was "satisfactory"...I'd add " room for improvement" but am sure that will come.

jeezo coop. this time last year you lost to a far worse team! what does it take to make you smile?

Just giving an honest review. We've brought in quite a few who can replace Windass so I'd give them a place and Sadiq will not replace Morelos as I'm not sure he's a "poacher" type.

Alot of negativity on Twitter after the result last night which I think was a tad OTT.

Not the best performace but still a clean sheet a two goal lead and more minutes under the belt for the players.

Goldson was my MOM - Good in the air, strong, pacey and can pass. Bigger and better tests to come but but not a bad start.,

Middleton was definitely the best plus point.
Looking forward to seeing more and more of him. Murphy will be well aware he will need to deliver week in week out.
I can't really remember having two attacking players vying for the same spot. The quality of our replacements have been so poor in recent years

McGregor - Nice to see him in the shirt, nothing to do after watching the ball come off the bar early on.

Flanagan - Decent start, came centrally to break up play a few times. Him and Murphy on the same side not ideal though.

Katic - Solid and composed. Impressed.

Goldson - As above but missed a chance he should have buried.

Tav - Good game from him for being in the middle of pre-season. Penalty was ice cool.

Arfield - Takes up good positions but was wasteful on the ball too often. Early doors but a lot more to come.

McCrorie - Decent performance, done his role well. Thought he could have been more adventurous taking the ball out and passing forward much more v this kind of opposition though.

Candeias - A nuisance at the start but didn't effect the game nearly enough. I've long said he's never a starter. Decent sub nothing more.

Windass - Looked very rusty in when he had chances, not a fan of him out wide. Would rather just convert him into a no9 than play him wide.

Murphy - Good performance, never a penalty though

Morelos - New season, same big diddy.

Middleton - MoM i'd have him start on the left in the next leg, stick Murphy on the right.

Jack - First game back, kept it tidy.

Ejaria - Looks half decent, will help open up teams but he's quite a gangly awkward footballer.

It's the first competitive game of the season FFS!

Five new players (if you include McGregor). You cannot expect a team to be firing on all cylinders and having a full understanding of where each other is going to be in one game.

Some people really need to get a f@cking grip!

The thing is.. you've got to start somewhere and it's still a 2-0 win at home, so not the end of the world.

Anything is an improvement on last year (assuming you stroll through the second leg).

The real test will be the next 3 or 4 months when the side are a bit more settled.. if they aren't playing well by then, then fans have a right to grumble.

Don't get the dislike of candieas, wonderful delivery and a great asset in the right.

Arfield although he didn't impress me particularly much I know there's more to come as he was excellent down south.
What I would say is he showed for the ball far more than Dorrans ever did

I'm no f@ckin greetin right!

It's the negativity that seems to be in a lot of places like Twitter, plus players getting written off after the first game, etc. Mental.

I wrote off Ejaria after about 2 mins. Changed my mind at the penalty call though
