All about opinions. Time will tell how he does. Boy can spin on a pound coin

Ejaria seems to be dividing opinions on here.

Far too early for anyone to get excited about the lad given the opposition.

But that team looked pretty good to me until about the halfway line. Seemed to defend pretty well and certainly played the ball out well from the back...after that they were lost.

Can't see why anyone would be negative though...he had some very nice touches and a couple of good runs.

Flanagan will be a good buy and an upgrade on Declan John...although John is admittedly better for the team photos.

I'm not sure if rangers will do much better this season but the defence, with Mcgregor behind, will surely be a massive improvement from last year.

Progres won 2-0 away to an Azerbaijani team in last nights qualifying

You’d have thought the Azerbaijani team would have fibbed the team from Luxembourg

Fair enough. It might just be his awkwardness which was throwing me. Obviously not writing him off straight away.

we lost to a juggernaught at the beginning of their dominance

Looks that way miller. It’s fully expect them to win it this year !

Ejaria looks like one of those guys that never looks like the ball under control but somehow manages to hang on to it.

I think he'll be a good addition, would have him ahead of Arfield on last nights showings from the pair.

I thought his close control was excellent

We talking about the big number 10?

IE it was decent but looked more by accident than design but i think it's just his playing style.

He’s certainly a lanky big chap so could be

Prso

What a player he was

I realise it's only the first game of the season, but I already have concerns, even if it was a good result in the main. My concerns are about team balance, not so much fitness and sharpness and the players gelling.

Murphy and Flanagan both playing on the left when both are naturally right footed and out of position, causes totally inbalance down the left. I know Murphy was played their last season, but he had a natural left footer behind him which brought a bit more balance.

Another problem is Candeias playing central and Windass on the right. I'm a big believer in playing players in their natural positions on their natural side.
He should have at least switched Windass and Candeias. Later on he could have put Murphy wide right and brought on Middleton wide left.

I am also getting seriously worried about Morelos. I have a feeling he's just not mentally strong enough to play for Rangers, since his 'bad spell' and big misses last season, he's not been the same player in the first have of last season and I just don't think he's got what it takes to cope with the mental aspect of playing for us. I hope I'm wrong, but I would drop him for Sadiq.

I appreciate it's only game one and things may change once we get sadiq and Coulibaly in. I'm also hoping we make a move for another striker and another Centre mid and Centre back. We also need a few bodies out still.

Lots of positives as well in the defence and Middleton and the result.

I'm not panicking just yet, it's one game in and I'll wait and see what happens and give the players and manager time. Lots of new players in already and it will take games to be at our best.

With match fitness the high press we seen in the first half should work well in Scotland.

Must teams don't have many players who have the technique to deal with so little time on the ball.

Problem is, installing an ethos in a matter of weeks.
As ever we'll remain cautiously optimistic... For about a month.

I simply refuse to be optimistic as a bear now.

Not think it might be worth waiting to see what this chap is actually like before calling for him to replace your top scorer from last season?

I wasn’t overly impressed
A right sided left back is not a good idea and offered little to support Murphy
Having Windass out right meant Tav was exposed at times
Mcrorie offered little as his role was not really required last night
Our passing was laboured most of the night not helped by the pitch which looks weeks away from being good enough

The keeper and both centre back looked ok and Arfield busy and tidy

Morelos did what he does worked hard and missed chances

The second leg will be tough and big improvements needed before the league starts

Not if Morelos keeps missing chances. He will come on as a sub in the first few games anyway I suspect. We badly need another striker, so we can play two up top and due to injuries.

The players who were here last season still have a fear of playing at home. Windass and Morelos to be specific. I rate both of them but I think the pressure is too big for them. Hope I'm wrong though, as Windass has potential to be a good player.

Nope. Morelos is mentally shot after that miss at Ibrox. He requires a spell out the first team to get his head in gear and to also know he's not first choice.

Fundamentally I'd prefer it if there were another, more experienced option but for now Sadiq has to start.
