Diamond, well that's the million dollar question. Why indeed. Only Levy knows, and possibly a frustrated Poch.

I have the feeling deadline day and the days leading up to it are going to be mayhem.

Levy loves to drive the best possible deal, he must love the game of poker, he is a very shrewd businessman, but it would be nice to conclude some straightforward and swift business instead of all this hanging around waiting.

I hope so too. I dare say if he did it would draw some backlash from certain fans but he's pretty much the closest thing to a spokesperson that us frustrated fans have got.

If that’s not the clubs intent right now then they should be honest about it to existing and also potential new ones.

in this environment of limitless cash spend by some of our rivals i think levy is a dinosaur. i think his reputation and tactics historically are hurting us strengthen the squad. If i was a chairman he would be the last guy i would try and do a deal with. i would not be shocked if we have lost a couple by the time liverpool come to the new lane, we might be 6 points off the pace with the same squad depth issues and i will hold him solely responsible as we spend the next 8 monthstrying to scrape 4th

Well Wanyama, Winks or Sissoko would not be starting our first match anyway, if Spurs were serious about the Prem.

Spurs midfield for the Newcastle game will be in all probability Dier, Alli, Eriksen, Dembele (Lamela), so not sure why all the panic.

Levy is going to have to hope Poch helps him out, if we aren't going to get any real business done before the start of the season. Think there's going to be a lot of anger directed at Levy if we have a poor start.

Like it's been said 433/4141 might be the new formation. So Wanyama/winks/Dier will be competing for only 1 position anyway. With the latter two unfit, Dier will play, and he is favourite anyway.

Yes so if that’s the immediate aim then be honest about it and Poch needs to pipe down with all the talk that suggests otherwise as it’s all talk without the actions to suggest they’re trying to back it up. If the club really thought they were close to winning it in the last couple of years, surely they’d be ruthless in dumping the dross just to clear out space for those who can make the difference?

The panic is sandy we haven't done anything to improve the squad the way Poch said we would. We are supposedly going to be "brave". How is scrambling around signing no one with 12 days to go until the transfer window closes being brave ? It's plain stupid. Liverpool look miles more prepared than us with the signings they have made. Arsenal have done all their business early. City didn't even need anyone, but still signed Mahrez to improve squad quality. We are an utter shambles.

Other two central midfield positions: Eriksen/Dele/Sissoko/Dembele/Lamela


My concern is Sissoko should have been upgraded and Dele alli is a lot more effective further forward

The only positive thing about this shambolic window is the hopeful emergence of Lucas. He's looking sharp in the friendlies and I'm hoping he gets a lot more game time.

I don't really blame Poch. He might well believe there is still a chance to compete for top trophies with this lot. It's not like we have a bad squad and maybe some of our top players can keep improving to make up for the deadwood. I guess we could if we have a bit of luck (more the CL than the PL), but the reality is we're too short in quality and I'm sure Poch knows that, which is why if Levy doesn't start changing, Poch will be off sooner than later.
