Meyer is decent.

Anyone know how bad Wanyama's injury is?

The worst timing. I haaaaaaate players getting injured at the end of pre season. If they get fit again in a few weeks, they're playing catch up.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I think it all seems a little suspicious stuff like this
----------------------------------------------------------------------

in what way?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

In either - holy hell its a bad injury and this could be a serious problem or (and in a sense the more likely IMO) it is probably PED related
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Crikey, I hadn't even thought of PED. You honestly reckon?!

I just thought it could be a recurrence of last year's (like muswell has said) and he's proper crocked long term.

Not sure why fans are so hung up on the likes of Meyer and Seri, who have joined lesser teams for a reason

We don't need extra bodies we need genuine quality

I did an article like this a few weeks back - somewhat facetiously - about PEDs and sport http://www.ja606.co.uk/articles/viewArticle/393270 .

There is no doubt in my mind that the majority of footballers do it; just have to look out for the signs (worth reading IOAG/Cosmics comments who know a lot on the matter).

Phenom

Like Kovacic? If we actually splashed big money to try to improve the team

Meyer for example would just be another Holtby. Yeah he was better than Carroll/Paulinho, but ultimately he wasn't good enough

Cheers, I've read it. I'm still confused

So you reckon Wanyama does PEDs and has been caught? Or has facked himself by doing too much?

What makes you so sure? Interested.

yeah i agree mate but cant see the kovacic as realistic for us with the cash he'd cost. should we be going after him yes, but will be 100% never

Nothing makes me sure - I think it was quite suspicious about how he suddenly became 'injured' last season and wonder if he was just serving a ban. Maybe he has declared himself injured because he is going on a 'cycle' again and can get out of drug testing as a result? Maybe this is a genuine injury this time unlike the last one?

I honestly really don't know - but I find all these footballers who suddenly go off injured for ages after literally nothing ridiculously suspicious. The only real explanation typically for long term injuries is ligament damage. I'm not a doctor though so I don't really know.

Interesting. I've always just thought they get injuries. I've picked injuries up before (e.g. groin) that have kept me out for months, but nothing major caused it.

I think I'm too trusting and naive

I mean, I don't really care much. It's all part of the game to me.

They’re back on Monday.

posted on 31/7/18

They had better all be back for the first game of the season. I don`t get why players like Eriksen, who was also at the World Cup, and his world cup only finished a little over a week before most of the others, and he played just as many games as Kane, has been on the tour of the USA, played in every match, and yet the others are still lazing about on beaches.

Some players do not need much of an excuse not to be playing football, the thing what they get paid for.

posted on 31/7/18

Eriksen has not played as many games as Kane though?

posted on 31/7/18

Kane played two extra games Sandy, and had more training, and as such hasn't had a break.

I know you're old school but physically they need a break. Especially with Poch's style of pressing.

They won't be fully fit for the Newcastle game, better to prepare yourself for this fact now!

posted on 31/7/18

Actually Kane played three more games than Eriksen

Kane played 5, Eriksen played 4 or was Eriksen rested at some point?

Eriksen played all 4 games.

Likely Team for Newcastle

Vorm or Gazzaniga (toss a coin)

Aurier CCV Sanchez Davies

Eriksen Skipp

Moura Lamela Llorente Son N'koudou

bench, Kwp, Janssen, foyth, + whoever turns up

really scraping the barrel

The way Rose has played since his return from injury he wouldn’t even get in my daughters team.

Is Lamela injured? When? How bad?
