Waghorn deal back on

posted on 5/8/18

Two days to sell "surplus to requirements". Don't think we will sell any. Loans maybe.

Vydra to Stoke ?

posted on 5/8/18

Waghorn isn’t worth the reported £5m.
If Derby are going to sign him on top of having Marriott it must mean that Lampard doesn’t think Bennett or Nugent will be good enough for the full season

Transfer rumour thread..........

Most clubs have 4-5 strikers to provide options and cover for injuries. If Waghorn comes in the the options might be him, Marriott, Nugent and Bennett with Jerome, Blackman and Vydra out and Martin on the back burner because of his illness. I don’t think that’s too many IF we do ship out the ones mentioned.

I was impressed with Waghorn's corner taking. Other than that he is no better than some we already have. Wonder why Lampard rates Nugent and Bennett in front of Jerome.

Nugent fits more with Frank's philosophy. Bennett gives more flexibility, being able to run the channels with pace. Could you see jerome digging out a cross like that in the dying embers?

We’ve already got a 20 goal a season striker on our books who loves playing in a 433. Chris Martin is a far better player than Waghorn.
We don’t need Waghorn we have enough options already. I think cover for centre half is the most pressing issue.

Nobody knows if Martin is going to be able to play this season so it wouldn’t be sensible to base the team around him. I agree about centre back though. If we get the kid from Chelsea I suppose Wisdom is cover, along with Pearce and Evans.

Sounds about right dies that. But he does have to get his head in the right place. I think.

And a question please exclusively for Heb. Heb - what made you into DCFC supporter? We've had some great Scottish players I know. Dave Mackay, John O'Hare, Bruce Rioch, Craig Bryson. Johnny Russell, Don Masson (remember him?), John McGovern, Chris Martin, Akechi Anya and no doubt many others. But it has to be more than that. What DID start you off as a Ram?

Peeder, Chris Martin has been poorly treated by a series of managers. He did well on loan at Fulham until SM turned his head to get him to request to come back to us but then had to play the rest of the season at Fulham and didn’t fair so well. He came back into the fold but Rowett didn’t fancy him as he doesn’t do well in Rowett’s game plan so he sent him out on loan to Reading when he got I’ll.
He’s recovered and don’t forget he’s still not 30 years old. Once he gets up to speed he’ll be back in the team and you watch him and Bryson roll back the years.
The Waghorn deal seems mental to me.

All I know Peeder is that we were cruising to promotion in 2015 until Martin was injured. Shortly after that we collapsed. Coincidence maybe but as they say in detective stories, I don't believe in coincidence.

Its a tale a heroism, self-sacrifice, a late train and a simple spelling mistake.

It all started, as so many things do, in the Coffee Room of a St James's club. An enigmatic blonde German lady, a case of mistaken identity and a long lunch were instrumental.

But enough! This will keep for a long winter's afternoon.......

Waghorn at the height of his powers would be expensive at £3m.. anything above that, especially with us already perilously close to FFP sanction, would be ridiculous.

I blame the Remoaners

Just what was a lady doing in St James's club? Foreign as well. You should have been ostracised for such a breach of the rules.

To be fair I was only two at the time.

Anyway those at the lunch included my late Godfather, of the Foreign Office, and von Stalhein, representing the German High Command.

It was a long time ago and much remains classified to this day. I will tell what I can in due course.

We've got a good target man and we don't want an overpriced replacement. Lampard is new to management so he needs our expert help.

Yes! VC10, I don't see the need for another striker with our current squad.. The Leeds gam will be a star test of the team and the manager.

posted on 6/8/18

I think you are right there Ramdini. Leeds looked very good and they will be a big test for us, if we beat them I reckon we'll top the league come May.

I didn't feel sorry for Rowett, but I fink he speaks nicely. Ha bl00dy ha.
