There's a common trend here, Everyone thinks their team will do very well and it's hard to argue against any of them which is a credit to the competition in the PL. 6 teams could win it and if any of them did it wouldn't be a massive surprise.
I know if Chelsea play to our full capability (which I think we will under Sarri) then there's no reason why we can't win it. We have 9/10 players who have won multiple titles and know what it takes.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What makes you think a manager who has literally won nothing in his career can take Chelsea to the title in his first season? I think you’re expectations are unrealistic....
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He's won nothing but let's taking into consideration the club's he's managed... Empoli, Napoli etc.
Would Klopp or Pep win at these clubs with limited funds to say the least? I doubt it and if you're honest you would too.
Pep had to spunk £300m on top of players like Aguero, Silva, De Bruyne, Kompany and Otamendi etc to win the title.
Klopp hasn't got near the title and if Liverpool do this season then again he will have had to spend a fair few quid to do so.
Sarri is finally at a club that will spend money.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
They’ve spent less this summer than in any summer I can ever remember

People massively underrating City. They probably won’t get 100 points again but I doubt anyone would be surprised if they got a minimum of 90
Can’t see many sides getting 90 points this season so a lot of sides will be battling for second

Yet they haven’t really been spending in recent times. I’m not criticising your manager, I’m just saying I don’t think Chelsea fans should expect too much of him in what is arguably the most difficult league to win.

That’s why I said the odds are realistic. If the odds were purely to win the league then City would be odds on, as they are, and Liverpool would be next at about 10/1. Liverpool are 4/1 purely to cover the EW bet.

16/1 is a nice price.
Same odds as Harry winning the golden boot at the start of the WC.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I cleaned up on that as well Sizz.
Never understand why Spurs and their players are always such long odds. And Liverpool are always so short. Should be make it 9 out of 10 seasons in front of Liverpool this coming season. Liverpool fans must be losing a fortune.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Liverpool have owners who invest in their side and seem to want to progress
Levy is so tight you could put a lump of coal up his ass and a week later it would come out a diamond
----------------------------------------------------------------------
And yet we still always manage to finish above you! π€·πΎβοΈ
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We'll see. We've addressed pretty much all of our weaknesses now. Spurs look to be going backwards at present although there is still time to sign someone. If you don't it will be nothing short of madness.

Haven't been spending? I have to disagree. We have been spending, Just on the wrong players.
Bakayoko 40m
Morata 58m
Drinkwater 35m
Zappacosta 22m
Rüdiger 35m
Giroud 20m
Barkley 15m
Emerson 25m
Jorginho 57m
That's the signings the club have made and out of the list only Rüdiger has proved to be a good signing.
The board haven't a facking clue, £300m spent there and look at the dross.
I fully expect 2 more signings before the window closes.. Martial/Zaha and Vecino from Inter (good player who fits the system)

I wouldn’t say fail at all. We finished 4th last season, and City were miles ahead of everyone. We can’t guarantee that our new signings won’t need time to settle in, so it may be unrealistic to expect such a massive points swing as you’re suggesting. If we were to finish second, no matter what the points difference, it would be a big step forward.

Not really. Lovren is what he is. He's played in a 2 his whole career. Luiz is far better as the spare man in a 3. A huge part of his game is sweeping up and his ability on the ball. The physical part of being up against a striker and his heading ability is questionable. No hiding in a 2.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Luiz in a 2 is fine. Arguably his worst game for Chelsea came in a back 3, Away to Roma.
Luiz has made a couple of errors in his previous stint in a back 4 and it's stuck with him for years.
Lovren "Is what he is"? Hmm slightly dismissive of the point you were trying to make that Chelsea could be undone by Luiz ability to play in a back 4... Surely this means Lovren could be a contributing factor to why Liverpool might not won the league.

If we were finishing closer to the champions then I think fans would still back him. If we appeared to be stagnating then maybe the doubters would begin to surface. Although by that point Klopp would be getting towards the end of his contract anyway, if he doesn't sign an extension in that time.
We won the CL with Luiz in a two
Actually no he would still have a couple of seasons left to run.
With Chelsea holding onto Hazard, as appears to be happening they must have a real chance of Top 4 and I fancy Liverpool for second as they seem to have bought well. The moany one will bore his way to third at the expense of football and the sanity of those watching. Arsenal may take a season to adapt to having real manager so I feel will be behind Spurs in 6th. Spurs as usual have not dealt with their weaknesses so may struggle a bit.
1. Liverpool
2. Man City
3. Spurs
4. Arsenal
5. Chelsea
6. Man United
Gotta feeling Arsenal are going to do well this season. Aubemeyang for top scorers with Kane and Salah.

Luiz's getting on a bit, but still a good defender. Good ball carrier, good passer of the ball and a mean free kicker. He's capable of brain fart moments, but his overall contribution really does outweighs the negative of playing him.

Who will play CB for you? That would be my concern. All bar Rudiger struggle in a 2, which Sarri will use. You don't have a left back that can defend.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I personally think it will be Luiz and Rüdiger. Let's not forget City finished on 100 points with Otamendi and Stones at the back.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Luiz in a two will be a disaster.

Same could be said for Lovren.
Luiz has been immense since he's came back. Fell out with Conte and he wouldn't put him back in the side.

It would be disappointing if we don't. However if we were to finish in the top four again and pick up a cup I think people would accept that. Establishing ourselves as a consistent CL team is key.

Hypothetically tho, In 2 years time.. 5 years into his Liverpool tenure, If Klopp hasn't won a significant trophy and Liverpool continue to play nice football but finish in the top 4, Would you continue to back Klopp?

Hypothetically tho, In 2 years time.. 5 years into his Liverpool tenure, If Klopp hasn't won a significant trophy and Liverpool continue to play nice football but finish in the top 4, Would you continue to back Klopp?

If we were finishing closer to the champions then I think fans would still back him. If we appeared to be stagnating then maybe the doubters would begin to surface. Although by that point Klopp would be getting towards the end of his contract anyway, if he doesn't sign an extension in that time.
