Move Asda a bit and knock down that pub. Easy peasy
Asda would have to go, Molineux as it stands is a legacy from Sir Jack.
Jeff it's a no from me.
I imagine 99.9% of fans would be dead against a ground move and you would expect that to be enough. I don't know how big Molineux could realistically be but surely it could be developed to hold well over 40,000?
There is enough land around Molineux to make it 50k seater stadium, look how much Tottenhams ground is costing, surely Molineux could be developed.
I'm all for history, and I have said as much. But Wolves have ambition to swim with the big fishes, and it is that ambition that will help keep the likes of Nuno and Neves etc at Wolves.
Wolves are talking about potentially doubling the size of Molineux. which is a clear sign of intent. But the chaos that would cause on matchday would be huge.
My first choice would always be stay at Molineux, but if we really do want to compete with the best, I'm not sure we can do it where we are now.
I think we could do the capacity, but the surrounding area and road infrastructure would struggle to cope without major restructuring.
Having said all that, I really think it would be in the best interest of Wolverhampton, to have a top club representing them (imagine the boost to town 60,000 fans would bring) So if I were them, If Fosun were prepared to put up the money, I would make sure I did everything I could to help them. Including changing road structure.

Have to say it would be sad to leave the Molineux site but if Fosun are really up for the investment on and off the pitch then moving may be the best option. I heard a while ago the club had been looking at the old Goodyear factory site which isn’t far out of town, and there’s land available near the M54.
The problem with developing the two sides of the pitch, Billy Wright and Steve Bull stands, is that we would have to go a season with only 3 sides of the ground open while it’s happening on each side. That’s two seasons of low capacity and reduced income. And that in itself could send us back to the championship, let alone a number of current season ticket holders wouldn’t be able to get in

--------------------------------------------------------------------- you imagine wrong.
A poll in mol mix at the moment currently has 44% of supporters prepared to move.
Great news. They should move to South Birmingham and give us genuine fans a chance to see them live.
Or Florida.
No Jeff, no. I'm sure with the right architect and a bit of imagination, the current site could be developed. In fact if I remember correctly the Morgan plan if taken to its conclusion would've seen a 50k capacity Molineux.
Problem has always been the north west corner being too close to the road but there's plenty of space further up Waterloo road it doesn't have to be symmetrical. Build over the existing pedestrian area in order to keep it open and do the same with the opposite side. Extend the south bank as a single tier. Job done. I'll get me crayons out meself and draw him a picture if he wants.
I stated a long time ago when all this extension idea was going on, that it would be unrealistic to have a stadium with more than 40,000 capacity, as we wouldn't fill it every week. We could probably achieve 38,000- 40,000 staying put. This season will be a good indicator as to how many we can get through the turnstiles.
Sunshine, this season is just the start. to need a 50,000 seater stadium will take a lot more than one good season in the Prem.
But if we can challenge for the top, if we can challenge in Europe and start winning in major competitions, that will be the time to judge.
I keep pointing it out, but China could be huge in our future.
Last time we had this conversation, we ended up in League One because of that ridiculous looking North Bank.
Invest that (potential) £800m in a new stadium elsewhere - like on the bloody pitch.
That ridiculous looking North Bank has been very much needed this season, as will a much increased capacity in the future.
Fans seem to only see short term, with no idea about building for the long term.
amiga...like games, I'm taking every season as we go. To look too far into the future is futile Imo. There are reports that the Chinese government are not too happy with money leaving the country and may well clamp down on it in the future. Right now, we're doing well with investments on the pitch. So let's just wait and see how we get on and what the crowds are like before even thinking about moving away from Molineux.
Remember the last time we went up? Agreed, we didn't have the quality of players that we have now, but we couldn't fill the stadium then. Plus if we lose a few games, which we're bound to do, then let's just see how many bums we get on seats.
You're losing your souls!
But don't worry because when your owner loses interest and you stop dropping down the leagues AGAIN i'll be here to commiserate!
And we are here for you too Boilerman, on your current drop down the leagues
