Anyone think the days of frantic buying on Deadline Days are over?
In the past there would be like 3 major signings at the top and then loads and loads of signings with the other clubs.
Now the major clubs dont seem to be involved and the amount of deals on this day has significantly reduced.
Yeah I think the prices going up so much have killed the deadline day rush some what. Deadline day would only make big deals more expensive, so think we’re seeing clubs having to get their major deals done early. Seems like deadline day is mainly kept for smaller deals now. Possibly it ending early might effect as well, teams won’t have the first few games to assess what level they’re at and if they might need to add more players

In the past deadline day was a let down because the whole fanbase knew we hadn't completed our business. Its different when there is no expectation because all the crucial business has already been done.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You wouldn't want to be in our position
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You have a huge stadium debt to deal with. We have gone through all that shiiite from 2007-2012. And the economy will go through similar slow downs that we had in 2008-2010 with Brexit for you.
We voted for Brexit so that Spurs had a bigger struggle with the stadium debt
4 and a half hours left to get rid of Danny Welbeck to an English club...
So is this Dendoncker fella any good Mack?
Even if they don't sign anyone, Man Utd could probably get away with passing off Lindelof as a new signing.

Exactly! With Perez now gone Welbeck has to stay, unless Dembele comes in.
Welbeck seems fairly happy on the bench anyway and there is less chance of him getting injured if he just watches :-0

Rather have Nketiah, Nelson and Smith-Rowe getting games than Welbeck.
These 3 may or may not reach top class, but Welbeck has long proven he won't.

Its difficult to transfer potential to production in pressure situations of the prem. 30 mins here and there or cups is different. Stepping into an injury situation is asking a lot. Especially because pacey players tend to have lots of muscle injuries.
Luckily we have two strikers...

We didn’t get a left back, center back or winger so our business has not been done.
We’ve gone from Kos/Mustafi/Chambers/Holding to Sokratis/Mustafi/Holding/Mavropanos
Somehow we’ve got even weaker at CB.
Then we have AMN playing out of position as a makeshift left back because Kolasinac is shiiiit, Nacho is finished and both are crocks. Not getting.a winger isn’t the biggest disaster because we have good attacking options but even taking a gamble on a freebie like Martins or Bernard would have been sufficient for a season.
The bigger worry is Lacazette getting enough games, rather than worrying about 3 players playing too much.

Poor window but I guess with a 50M budget, it's as good as we could have hoped

I think we need to break the bank next summer with a a significant transfer budget on young talent.
Then spend the 2 windows after that fairly quiet to bring down the net spend
