What kind of late life delusion is this?! How is Llorente going to up his game by 20% ffs... Give it a rest - we are capable of getting top four and that's as far as our ambitions will go this season.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Llorente was absolute pants last season, but he used to have something in his locker, so not to say he will not score a few next season if required.
You seem to be so negative, not sure why, CL and the new stadium is about as good as it gets.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Because Sandy, I realise that we've got a great set of players and the team needs just a couple of quality additions to really push for something great.
Continuing the way we are and lacking ambition to improve will end in one way and one way only - player's and coaching staff eventually leaving.
Who knows how long it will then take to rebuild especially with our approach to transfers. We've been fortunate to have players like Kane develop the way they have and to buy players like Alderweireld and Eriksen during times where you could get genuine value.
Rebuilding in the future will not only take time but cost us dearly. Why not go all out on two players instead of buying eight in the future and to replace leavers no less rather than adding to the talents.

Yeah problem is there’s only maybe 10 players of that quality in the world and they all already play for Barca, Madrid etc
---------------------------------------------------------------
so your saying the players you have now are just below Barca and Madrids? hmmmmm
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So first Arsenal fans tell us Kane/Alli/Eriksen will force moves to Barca or Madrid and now they tell us they’re not good enough

Yeh well I have had a rethink, seeing all the players perform well at the World Cup. And none of the other clubs have signed any real worldies, lots of squad players, so Spurs will be fine.

Sandy’s about the only one speaking any sense on here at the moment.
Last season: replaced Walker with Aurier (IMO a downgrade), bought Llorente, Foyth, Lucas and Gazzaniga who had zero immediate impact and found a gem in Sanchez. Qualified for the CL with ease, beat Real Madrid, unlucky to lose to Juventus, one game from an FA Cup final.
This season our young squad is more experienced, proved their class at the World Cup and are back at an actual home ground. But everyone’s losing their sh*t because we haven’t bought the latest shiny toy. Consumer culture at it again.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Thanks mate, a modicum of sense at last. Spurs will do fine this season with the players they have. Stability is everything in football, as is a settled side.
Even when Spurs won the Double in 61, they added the greatest ever British Goalscorer to their team the following season, Jimmy Greaves, and guess what, never ever looked like winning the title whilst he was at the club. Buying players guarantees nothing, unless you can spend billions like Chelsea and City. Then you can buy duff players willy nilly for silly money, until you eventually buy a player that clicks.
Spurs will do fine yes Sandy, but we will not win anything again, and then the players and manager will want out because of our lack of ambition

Just funny that some people think our players are too good for us and want out, and others think they couldn’t possibly play for Madrid. Reality must be somewhere in the middle. I do think a fair few of our squad could play for Barca/Madrid, if that was your question.
While I think we could probably have done with a fresh face or two, I'm not overly concerned about the lack of new signings. We didn't have any glaring weaknesses in our starting XI to sort out, and there is no point spending big on squad players if they aren't necessarily going to be an improvement on what we already have.
Sánchez should improve in his second season at the club, Winks could make a significant contribution if he avoids injuries and is able to replicate and improve upon his performances early last season, while Moura will surely make a bigger impact with a full pre-season with the club behind him. Maybe Poch & Co can cut some of the rashness out of Aurier's game. Maybe another youngster will step forward and join the group.
I think there is enough potential for improvement within the current group to make up for the lack of signings.

i think it's more to do with the fact you have these supposed 'world class' players but your not paying them accordingly with the rest of the top teams + not winning trophies or investing in your team. Due to those factors, the next thing to happen is players eventually leaving....unless something changes.

They were all supposed to be leaving this window. They have 12 minutes to get out.
It gets so boring all these Spurs players that are supposed to be leaving every season, and none ever do.
