I see his dad was happy at the move, calling Gers fans mongs yesterday

Seems like a good move all round. I liked him but he was inconsistent and can understand why others didn't. I'd hoped he would continue to push on and develop but he seemed to have plateaued a little.

Would have hoped for more of a fee, however if there is a reasonable sell on clause, I think that may actually have been a better bit of business than cash up front.

I'm not sure if you're implying it or not, but I don't see any shame in selling a player to help balance the books, is this not how it is meant to be? We've certainly spent plenty and I'd imagine almost all Rangers fans are pleased with the recruitment so far since Gerrard arrived.

I think he went as far as he could with Rangers and wasn't doing anything new.

Frustrating as f@ck as a player. I think he's too much of a mentalist to be a disciplined top player.

He did well for us though so best wishes to him.

I read he called it difficult to leave and Gerrard said that he wanted assurances he would be starting most games and as a no9.

Gerrard told him he wouldn't be guaranteed a place and would be played in different positions this season so it was best for him to move on.

The fee is too low but there's bound to be a sell on involved.

I never implied shame in selling a player - we are all selling clubs. I stated when new lad came in last week for couple of million but someone like Tav or Windass would be sold to bring in additional revenue....lets say no one agreed with me

He was inconsistent, but still one of our best players and I think his attacking output will be hard to replace. Fee was also low given what McGinn went for after one season in the SPFL and with one year left on his contract.

Think it’s commendable, if not slightly after the horse has bolted, that rangers are looking at their income to try and balance the books

windass is never a midfielder he can run and shoot but sometimes the simplest pass would trouble him and i don't recall him putting a decent cross in either

he is a striker for me if he's played there in a 4-4-2 i can see him scoring goals for wigan

murphy, candeias and kent are all better out wide than windass

The new manager doesn't seem to particularly fancy him. We got a wee bit of money for him. He can go back to England to a club where he might get more first team games. Meh.

Mixed feelings on this. He did score alot last season and I had hoped under Stevie G he would have came on but 2.5m for a player we bought for 50k is good business.

Plus he did get alot of unfair stick on twitter - prob best for both parties he moved on and I wish him well.,

I'm surprised at the fee, isn't it rather low for a player of his quality?

depends who you ask. for some hes a player that had a good scoring and assist record last season for others he is too inconsistent to rely on and can disappear.

Imagine taking a decent offer for a player you got for £60k to balance your books

That will never catch on

Windass was one of the most frustrating players to watch

Against Aberdeen on Sunday him and Murphy proved why they shouldn’t be first picks

Long overdue your club catching up on its debts.

What were those promises again?

I honestly think it's fair

He's very erratic , good then bad - in a game for a few mins then hides for 30
Has attributes but his footballing brain was a stumbling block for him imo
