Maybe if you had a manager that could keep his mouth shut this might work.
About other clubs that is.
There is less expectation on us to win the title but the same level of scrutiny will be applied with regards to results, performances and what nonsense Jose comes out with.
Forget about what the pundits are saying.
United are still my dark horses for the PL this season.
Liverpool have too many battles to fight - Spurs, United & City. These teams would do anything to beat Liverpool.
United on the other hand, knows how to win regardless of the style of play.
Liverpool have to pass United and Spurs first before catching up City. And many people seems to forget this.

I expect us to grind out results and I expect us to be challenging Liverpool for second behind City.
Thing is United are capable of winning three games 1-0 in a row playing poorly whereas Liverpool will probably play better in three games, win two of them 4-0 but draw the other 2-2. No doubt where the entertainment is coming from but points is what matters.
Does anybody think, with city and Liverpool being favourites and everyone expecting them to fight it out, it could help us this season?
..............
No. I think we will finish well behind both of them.
I think the fact that we are not one of the favourites for the title takes the pressure off us, meaning we are the most likely team to win the title. Which makes us favourites to win the title for me. Because we are not one of the favourites. That now makes us favourites. Not favourites. Favourites.
Of course Jose is aiming to win the title. He knows we are capable, even if we don't have City's squad or momentum. It is achievable.
I would expect we'll finish second or third to City, and possibly Liverpool. Any lower than second will be somewhat disappointing unless Liverpool turn out to be as effective as City were last season.
Really, in terms of our football, I just want to see determined, focussed, clinical performances (as much as we can hope for under Jose), which should deliver a challenge to City with the first team we have. If you can't have style, you at least have to have consistent efficacy.
If we manage to keep the pressure on City all the way into April, we'll have done well.
In the CL, we need to be aiming for the quarters, at least. We aren't on the level of Madrid, Barca, Bayern, City, PSG or Juve in terms of our squad, so I wouldn't expect us to be competing for the crown.
As usual, Jose will want to see us compete for both domestic cups, and quite rightly.
Current odds.
City 1.5/1
Liverpool 5/1
Man utd 18/1
Chelsea 19-1
Tottenham 22-1
we were about 13-1 before Leicester game and now 19-1 which im sure is the lowest ever for us after 1 league game in the history of the premiership. Not sure why some are getting bullish about our prospects due to one lets face it fortunate win at home, when millions of people think the opposite after seeing the game.
think we will finish 4/5th personally with tottenham. If we play really well this season then perhaps 3rd/4th with Chelsea.
I think we've enough quality to challenge (think we beat every other Premier league side in one of the fixtures last season) ... If not then certainly to play a lot better than what we have football quality wise
Whether we do or not... Can't really judge yet with all the nonsense surrounding the club... Pogbas comments, Jose's negativity preseason and cracks at the board, what impact appointing a DoF may have on his mood.
If everything settles, and we get out of August without losing Pogba and Martial or anyone else important... And if Jose can keep encouraging the likes of Pogba and Shaw rather than criticising... We could click nicely, the potential is there
we were about 13-1 before Leicester game and now 19-1 which im sure is the lowest ever for us after 1 league game in the history of the premiership
----------------------
Less to do with the performance and more to do with the press stuff with both Jose and Pogbas post match comments... There's a bit of a cloud over us
Could us losing our key players, Jose imploding and losing our next 10 games actually be a good thing? It would lower the expectations and we could go under the radar. It would put us in the perfect position for a title challenge.
It's hard to be anything but pessimistic about the remainder of the season with all the uncertainties surrounding Jose and some of the players. Last Friday night did nothing to convince otherwise

United have a fairly kind start to the season. I'd fully expect you to be within 3-5 points of the top coming in to November. It's how your squad deal with a tougher set of fixtures alongside the CL that will give an indication of where you are.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Lol how can we be 3-5 points away from ourselves?
I think Utd do have the advantage of being the underdogs somewhat this season. Just depends which way this team goes.

The fairly kind start means nothing to us tbh... The amount of times people have listed a run of winnable games over the last few years and we've made a balls of them is unreal
Liverpool are being grossly overrated. They will be coming down to earth with a big bump. Their defence is still very flakey against any half decent team. And if Milner is going to be a regular. Then would he get anywhere near any of the other top four teams? Of course he wouldn`t.

Is that the same Milner that holds the record for most CL assists? Come on be at least half reasonable and bury the bias. Your team had Sissoko and Dier in it ffs so he would clearly walk into Spurs team lol
I love how biased some Pool and Spurs fans are and they all say the say nonsense with 0 merit.
Pool have an awful defence, but it conceded like 2 more goals than Spurs last year didnt it? So I guess your saying Spurs have a bad defence as well? im confused.
Pool havent conceded a home goal since February.
I love Spurs but besides maybe Dele not 1 of your midfielders played better than Milner this weekend.
I watched both games and Spurs and Pool played teams of an equal footing. Spurs looked shakey but made for a great game. Pool looked solid but made the game look like a preseason match, they barely got out of 1st gear.
Oh yeah....and you kept on insisting on any thread mentioning them that West Ham would take at LEAST a point...or shall we just forget that? lol
Delusion at its finest.
All you Pool and Spurs fans that rush to make a salty article soon as the other wins should be banned from the site imo, so the grown ups can talk football

Spouts constant nonsense and stats rarely get bought up. If they do its usually by other Spurs fans disproving him, and when they make him look silly it results in him banning or blocking them lol
Quality entertainment though. Walking contradiction
We are not under pressure to win it and the fans have been relaxed about it for a couple of seasons but this season expectations are a lot higher. I have not seen many Liverpool fans say we are going to win it but I think the majority of us want us to challenge this season with the investment we have made and squad depth we have compared to recent seasons.
Utd have a lot of quality still and I would not write them off so quickly.
I think City are still the team to beat as they have strength in depth and finished way ahead of anyone else last season. I don't thin the gap will be that big this season though.
