So best scenario for Liverpool to win the prem.Is for City to meet Utd in the Champions league final and for Chelsea to meet Arsenal in Europa league final and for Liverpool to finish bottom at the group stage and 'put all their eggs in one basket'

Is that what this absolute mess of an article is getting at?

I will reply to you absalute mess of a response..

Look at the results United once they secured top four.

Look at Liverpool’s results at the latter stage of the CL.

Looks at the final league positions of the English teams who have got to the final/won a cup in Europe.

Look at the stupid comment you just made United in the CL final 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I know imagine writing an article based on facts you can't argue against

Only that it’s absolutely not factual and mere speculation

25 points is a huge gap however you spin it, 7 points isn’t. So by your logic Chelsea only won the league because they didn’t have European football and we did?

With respect city's 100 points was a historic record and they rightly deserve to be fabourites based on it.

End of.

However if you sign into it a bit and see they took 24 out of 30 points v top 6 rivals and were out of fa cup and cl for run in.... well...

Then if you look at lfc past two seasons 76 points and 75 points. The first year we were great v top 6 and lousy v bottom half. Then last year we were hammering lower half but only took 10 points v top 6...

Lfc have improved playing wise and so 85-90 points may be possible. Alisson vvd etc etc. It has yo come v top half sides though.

Good post, VvL, it's hard/nigh impossible to place any weight on last year's performances and results. Time to move on.

We've got an improved, some may say vastly improved spine in the team, although last night they weren't so great due to CP's performance.

All that matters now is the next game. Nothing else matters. You make a valid point on, effectively, priority, and who wants what.

I'll nail my colours to the mast; our manager wants to win the PL. anything else, everything else is a bonus.

I understand where the OP is coming from with this article. I doubt City would've 'suffered' if they had progressed. Their squad is ridiculous. Maybe Us, Utd & Chelsea.

Looking more specifically with us, our midfield was depleted towards the end of the season and we were running our front 3 into the ground. If we had all our players fit, I doubt our league form would've stagnated like it did towards the end, where Chelsea got a small whiff of things. God willing, Sturridge stays fit throughout the whole season and with Shaqiri now here as well, maybe we can juggle the two competitions better.

Klopp also needs to work on his substitutions. I dont know the real science behind it but some subs need to come earlier so as to not risk the player getting an injury.

Also to say that if the team progressed in the CL, their PL form stuttered is a bit ill advised. Chelsea put all their eggs in that CL basket because thats all they had that season. Mourinho put his eggs in the EL because thats all they had that season and that was their only route into the CL. Those respective teams HAD to do that...I dont think both competitions would've had a bearing on the other if they were fighting for both competitions.

I would remind people of who city lost to in the cup... and when.

If city went deep into cl like us.. maybe they would have onky got 95 points not 100

What about if you hadn’t been knocked out of the FA cup in January and Chelsea hadn’t gone all the way and won it. Would they have finished 4th ahead of yourselves?
