My thanks to Harps and admin for unblocking me.
Afraid I can’t quite be as positive as you. Preston were poor, not quite as bad as Ipswich, thankfully.
I thought we were poor too in the first half. Nevertheless the goal was deserved and helped us.
2-0 didn’t flatter us in the end as they pushed forward and exposed themselves.
Hopefully another confidence builder.
Only players of note for me were Bogle, Keogh and BJ when he came on

Keep the faith Baz.
We should beat Hull twice next week with a bit of luck. Their one win came against the mighty Rotherham.
Onwards and upwards.

I think Lawrence and Bennett had good games.
Baz. This is the best starts for quite a few years. To lose as we did to Leeds was no disgrace the way they are playing. My son was at the Millwall game. He said we played well and were unlucky whereas Millwall were lucky. I am liking what I see and hear of Frank and I expect better things than last year.
We seem to be fitter with more energy than previous seasons. I think I have seen player mentions of more intensive train sessions and it seems to show. I all games I have seen we have finished stronger than our opponents. ( I didn't see the Leeds game )
The problem appears to be that we have been beaten twice which according to Forest only teams who are unbeaten are allowed to accumulate points.
So we have no hope now.
I wish Forest would stop changing the rules because it’s difficult to keep up.
I’m optimistic, not down at all. I just feel we are still work in progress. A good side will find us out, that’s all - as has been demonstrated.
We are prone to mistakes, sadly. This insistence on building from the back is dangerous with our personnel.
Keogh, Tomari, Davies - and in particular Forsyth are prone to mistakes when under any kind of pressure.
For me we are too lightweight in midfield. The only one with a tackle in him is BJ. Sadly, Bryson runs around a lot but doesn’t actually achieve much. He jumped out of a basic tackle on the edge of our box at one point yesterday. Shocking.
Hopefully the fast, free-flowing football will come
Did I mention that I am completely confident that we will finish the season ahead of Leeds. Just for the record.
Thanks Ramdini

I thought we played much better yesterday, I liked the way we passed in triangles a bit like Mac1. I went home with a smile on my face which is unusual for me
I would love to have had Will in this team, I reckon Frank and Jody would have got him playing well. We got 5 million for him and we'd got 10 million on the bench!
Now to watch Will playing Palace, fingers crossed for Southgate to pick him for England
Thank-you Ang. I'm glad too. I was about to experiment on how to get them published in future. Admin and Harps to the rescue. I would quite like to know how he did it though.

VC, there was something strange about that deal. And ever since GR came in - he was determined to leave him out of the team.
We still seemed like a team in transition yesterday. We huffed and puffed at times but did not come close to looking as if we TOTALLY controlled the game.
I enjoyed it as a spectacle but have come to the conclusion that all the Championship managers came to our pre-season friendly against Wolves, saw how we played, wrote it down and now have the nous to counter us. We do not seem able to change or adapt. To do this is a mark of an excellent football team.

Yes, we are a work in progress - as are many teams in the league. But we did learn from the danger our mistakes threatened and later on we showed that - if all our players are marked - we don't always have to build from the back. Yesterday PNE would leave one of our players apparently unmarked but, as soon as Carson passed the ball to him, a gaggle of PNE's players would swoop and cause problems. But we did seem to learn.
Agree with the work in progress opinion.
We still gave the ball away in dangerous areas and that left us open to the counter. Teams are playing the press against us because it’s, currently, a proven source of an opportunity. Preston Reading and Ipswich just weren’t good enough to exploit it.
Yesterday was better and looking at the next two league matches we may get away with it again at the same time getting more used to it so come the tougher games we may not be to easy to get at.
But we’ll see.
When is a team not a work in progress?

Quote from WH in The Times...
'When GR came in to manage Derby, he said I wasn't his type of player and I wouldn't be playing as much as I'd like. I had to leave'
Surprised Heb hasn't mentioned this, to be honest
I represent Scottish, indeed Celtic, and now apparently any Public School players on here......
What did GR mean - "Not my type of player......he may have unbelievable talent...... but is a bit too posh........"
Pah!
What a coincidence. A very well known sports writer (for The Spectator as it happens) quotes WH....... "I was at my best when I had Connor Sammon, a big, mobile, unpredictable target man in the side......."
Few chickens coming home to roost perhaps!

Perhaps. But reading between the lines, I think that is what he meant.
Had he been interviewed that is
Great quote from Roy Hodgson after their loss at Vicarage Road:
"If the game had gone on another five or 10 minutes we could have got another goal and a draw would not have been an unfair result. It is very frustrating when you are 2-1 down and you are in the ascendancy but you can't get hold of the ball."
HTF can you be in the ascendancy when "you can't get hold of the ball"?
Priceless!
