I would be hypocritical if i did not say my heart sank. although Kasper has not put a foot wrong this season.

As I'm not old enough to remember an LCFC team with either Banks or Shilton in it then he has to be up there with one of the best in my supporting life.
His competition might be Keller or Flowers, from the MON era, but I can't think of too many more.
Easily better than Keller Joby, but I’d argue Flower was a more talented goalkeeper. However, due to his injuries and age, Kasper has been a more consistent performer for us.
Therefore the best goalkeeper in my supporting life too and great he’s signed a new deal. Get Maguire signed and that’s the core of our team locked down.
Well done all involved.
One to consider though. I always think kasper is at his best when he has something to prove. I hope this doesn’t make him conplacent and return to his poor form.
Banks,Shilton,Wallington,flowers,keller all better.
Really locked down to a new contract pah...with all the keeper transfers not a wiff of interest in him so get real. He has proper competition now until they decide to push off looking for first team football

And you ruin your argument when you just add in that keller is better. That’s when you just look bitter and biased as opppsed to educated and observant.
Many a team that could have won the Premier League have failed because they had a second rate keeper, we we were very Lucky we had one of the best in the World in Kasper to help us win it.
Have to be honest Mersey, in terms of contribution of quality saves at PL level I think Keller pushes Kasper

Don't dislike him i don't think is anywhere near as good as everyone thinks he is its only my opinion as a former goalkeeper.
Keller played for his country so your argument makes you sound bitter and twisted saying they have never one the premier league its like be saying well Kasper never won the world cup.
Players like Kante and Marhez have moved to get champions league football why hasn't kasper?
Kasper players for his country as well, what's your point? And golden boy Mahrez will spend most of this season on the bench.

If I was American , played in goal, and played in the English top flight, I reckon I could have played for my country.
Kaspers still playing for his country, and has won the prem with City. and played in the Champions League with City

Banks won the world cup , but he never played at a BIG club. Shilts played more for England than any other player. He never played for a BIG club ( no disresoect to Forest) But he won the top flight and European Cup with Forest and didn't do bad at Leicester, Stoke,Forest , Southampton or Derby.
I.d put Kasper on a par with Flowers ( and he won the prem ith Blackburn ) and never played for a BiG club. Wallo was just a legend.
So I don't get your ' big club never came in for him ' argument.

I never expected New to be anything other than unhappy about this; he's had about 8 seasons now to not rate Kasper, in which time he's won the league, put in worldie performances in the Champions League and been his country's best player as the reached the 2nd round of the World Cup. I don't think he's going to change his mind now.
But this thread isn't about Nev. It's about Kasper signing a new 5-year deal with us. And I'm very happy about that.
