Away goals rule should stay.
If a team loses the first leg 5-0 and win the second leg 1-0 then you have extra time?
You have to be kidding me.
If we are at home and its 2-0 with 10 mins to go, my team will defend and opponents won't attack with any ferocity just waiting for it to end then in game 2 they score one goal within 5 mins and defend the rest of the game waiting for penalties. If they score first, why attack and risk an equaliser? Game will be over when they score.

good rule imo

Would you be alright with the following scenario:
Football FC 2-2 Spurs
Spurs 2-2 Football FC
ET: Spurs 1-1 Football FC
Football FC goes through
Personally see that as level pegging. No team has really shown they deserve it more than the other.
I think he means away goals count as more in an aggregate sense

----------------------------------------------------------------------
You're stupid. That's aggregate goals not away goals.
It's 5-1 over 180 minutes of football.
No idea.
Find it hard to imagine a two legged game without away goals. If its the 80th minute and its a draw then no one is on their way out, so do both teams play cautious and look for extra time? Do they cruise through until penalties for fear of conceding? Would the home team push for that late winner? Would the away team look for it to avoid another hal;f hour on the opposition pitch.
Maybe all of the various outcomes as to how teams would approach a game will be the same as they are now, just the situations in which each type of approach is adopted would change. I dunno. My head hurts

And you would say the home team in this scenario (with away goals) would have to be more cautious as an away goal would kill them off. WIth no away goals, if they did concede late they would still have a chance of coming back. So makes more sense to think home teams would have a little more freedom.

Really? It'd be completely different.
no away goals and its a draw, then there is only one outcome. A draw.
With away goals there are three potential outcomes depending on who has scored away goals. Home win on away goals, away win on away goals, draw.
Thats the very nature of the away goals, so of course it'd be different
So you think a team would risk their place in the tournament chasing an away goal? Especially if they had been under the cosh all game?
Of course not, the mentality will be exactly the same with or without away goals.
