I bet it was Lefty who caused the thread be shut.
Last time I checked people were talking about county cricket on that thread.
Yeah the thread went off topic...
Turned into a scouting session for England's next opener lol

Yeah that was partly my fault, should probably have a separate thread for the county championship season although it'd probably only get about 20 comments
What's the problem with talking about the County Championship? It's relevant to the current England side in the ongoing series (keeping an eye on England hopefuls). Besides, when the Eng v Ind tests are actually on, we talk about that.
Perhaps the ECB have taken charge of JA606. That would explain such a bizarre decision.

Hahaha.
ECB were not happy with our views on the unchanged lineup for today's test therefore took the article down!
Admins have always treated the Cricket board with contempt on here tbh. I asked for an article to go live and it took about 2 weeks before they did it.
Yet they make that friday pun thread live in about seconds which has faack all to do with sport
I tend to ignore match threads for this exact reason, everything seems to get discussed there.
There should be a match thread for each test, not a series.
I just don't understand the logic in taking down the only thriving article on the cricket board
Fair enough, the chat wasn't literally about the Eng v Ind tests... but how are we supposed to talk about those when we're in the week break between matches?

Every forum lamenting the decision to retain Jennings is getting deleted by the ECB.
I thought threads only got taken down if they were complained about?
Jadeja and Vihari in for Ashwin and Pandya is the rumoured selection for India. The left handers will be delighted if Ashwin misses out especially as this pitch is supposed to be quite dry underneath the green tinge so there should be some turn later in the game.
Thought this had just been played for the last 2 months? Still no winner?
Threads should have a focus, they should not be a whatsapp conversation.
I remember a couple of years ago, there was an article on one series and then it extended to 2 and a half years worth of series or something silly like that.
Why not just have one thread for sport and then discuss everything?
No Ashwin makes our lives easier for sure.
Still fuming that we've got the same fecking XI
Though Jadeja does have a good record against us.
Did anyone do that quiz BBC had on their page of trying to name 25 of the Test players that have played for England in the last year? I got 23 ffs.

Don’t think the English left handers we’re losing sleep over Ashwin.

That's fair enough, although there's sometimes not enough interest to warrant having separate threads for every game although these tests have had a lot more interest.

I had genuinely forgotten about the other 2 though (both dropped completely off the radar since their debuts, though one because of injury mainly), so I feel I did as well as I could have
