ohhh brummie. You is talking exactly as you did about demba ba funny to read.

Both not given a fair crack (likely in tammys case not at all), after performing well for different clubs. atleast ba was at pl level.

Really don't know where Abraham goes from there, but I don't want RLC and CHO to end up in a similar position.

Tammy is terrible, couldn't even make an impact at Swansea.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Well he made an impact on Southgate.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Southgate is a terrible manager so that's not surprising
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Likewise, not tearing the place down at Swansea doesn't make him a terrible player. He's a hero in Bristol and personally I'd like to see what he can do in a better side than a terrible Swansea team.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Championship is his level atm so there was no point us keeping him
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No proof of that whatsoever as far as I'm concerned.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Performed well at Bristol (championship club), played in a poor Swansea side in the PL but he was poor too, 5 goals in 30 odd appearances. He's now at loan at Aston Villa (championship club) which is his level at this current time.

Anyone go to Ninian Park for the 3-3 in 84; that was fun!

It's not even a comparable scenario Nick. Demba Ba was a experienced player of approaching 30 and was never going to improve, whereas Abraham hasn't been tested in the gladiators arena by us yet.

Everyone seems to be missing my point here as well. I haven't said he's the muts nuts, I've said we don't know if he'd be a better option than Morata but the worst case scenario is that he couldn't be much worse - spot the difference?

If i were the man smoking 50 a day, Morata would have one last chance on Saturday then it will be Giroud starting and I would have had Abraham on the bench.

Haha it is slightly comparable in the fact demba ba was not given a solid run of game time for us, but yes different due to age etc.

Demba ba already PL proven, Abraham was not, yet both seem to have not got a chance.

Same with bats. Same with solanke (dodged a bullet).

But seems unless you are a big name or transfer, you won't get a gig as a striker here. Probably should have even kept sturridge.

Not remotely comparable Nick

We knew what we had with Ba, with Abraham we have no idea!

I don't believe we did, I think he could have been a 25 a goal season striker, even if he was a bit heavy handed bambi on ice at times.

Alas we have had this convo!!!

I'm with on abraham but I would wager that is a ship sailed sadly brum.

Kepa
Azpi, Rudi, Luiz, Alonso
Kante, Kovacic*, Barkley
Pedro, Morata, Hazard

*A bit of rotation in midfield would be good. See how Kovacic does in that deeper role.

Mind you I just looked, he's still only 20. Feels like he's been around forever.

Morata should be given a few more games as number 1. He started the season as our first choice striker so dropping him in September would be a bad call imo

Tammy really isn't nothing special, I know Morata isn't but the club did invest £60m in him so I can see why they'd persist with him.

Our strike force is the worst it's been since 2012-14. After Drogba left of course.

posted on 12/9/18

I'd argue that our strike force is worse than Torres, Ba and Eto'o.

Yeah the strike force is probably the reason we will struggle in many games this season. Hope we can find someone in January but highly unlikely or Morata comes good

Sorry, at this stage I'm not going to accept he's nothing special. On the other hand I'm not going to say he's the answer to our prayers either.

The simple fact is, he's untried and we don't know how good (or bad) he is.

I listened for years on JA606 about how bad Lukaku was, I'm damned sure most would have him in the team now.

All I do know is, right now Morata looks as fragile as a greenhouse on a golf driving range!

Lukaku is crap tbf. But will grab goals against the poorer teams, something we might struggle with if morata doesn't pull his finger out.

Lukaku seems to have a good relationship with Hazard, banging in the goals for Belgium.

Maybe Morata and Giroud can get like 12 goals each and hopefully Pedro/Hazard chip in.
