Everton humped by West Ham leaves us at 9th. Now all we have to do is stay in the top ten.

I thought Wolves were excellent today. To create so many openings against a team that have built a reputation of being hard to break down has to be encouraging. Every member of the Wolves team played well but I thought Boly and Castro perhaps the pick and Jota looking back to his best.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes - after the doubts about Boly earlier this season, I thought he was outstanding today.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Agree, thought he was excellent whenever Burnley got it in the box
And 4 points clear of 13th

He doesn't suit are plan A but if we were trailing a game i would much rather have him than Bonatini.
Think the reality is we assumed we had another striker coming but that fell through as i don't believe for one second we planned to just go with Jimenez and Jimenez light.

He'd have scored for fun today
He sure as shat wouldn't have missed some of those gifts in front of goal
Afobe
Bournemouth’s 5th choice and we want him to be Wolves second choice? Not a Premier League striker by some distance.
Being a modern top level striker involves so much more than standing around waiting for the ball to come to you. The chances we created today all came from excellent movement off the ball as well as on it. And the intelligent running of Jiminez, Jota, Costa, Traore and Bonatini left the Burnley defence ragged today in a way they have rarely been in the last 2 years
Goal every 290 mins in the prem for Afobe as it goes, actually good for a lower end side but lets not let that get in the way of any bias if we are in need of a goal late in a game.
Still can't believe how well we played, so so dominant against an allegedly established prem side.
Gary Lineker:
"30 attempts on goal by Wolves today. Lovely to see a promoted team play such positive football. What a welcome addition to the Premier League."
Be interesting to know if any other team have ever had 30 attempts on goal against a Burnley team that sets up to be hard to beat
When I say ever, I mean since they have been back in the Premier League
One surprise for me today was again not seeing Dendoncker on the bench. I know they said he needed fitness work after missing pre season with Anderlecht but I would have thought he would have been ready by now. Maybe Nuno wants to stick with the same subs as well as the same starting 11

So your idea of a top level striker is one that doesn't score.
Can’t believe we are having Afobe discussions.
He likely wouldn’t have scored today as the we wouldn’t have had the chances we had with him on the pitch. He wouldn’t link the play in the build up and likely wouldn’t have made the moves off the ball Jiminez and Bonatini did; who were both largely involved in the build up to all our chances.
The answer to not thinking Bonatini is good enough is not a more expensive, egotistical striker who also isn’t good enough.
Personally wouldn't want Afobe starting any games but I wouldn't want Bonatini doing so either but when it comes to one or the other off the bench if we need a goal then it's Afobe all day long.
As for this lazy lazy nonsense thrown at Afobe not being capable of being involved in build up play, well that's just crap as he was plenty involved when he came back last season, far more so than Bonatini was the last five months of last season that is for sure.
We need another striker and until we get one we are not going to fulfil our massive potential this season and will leave plenty of points on the pitch.

Bonatini scored 12 for Wolves in the first half of last season and Afobe scored 6 in the second half of the season.
And, like Nuno, I think Bonatini will contribute more to Wolves game this season than Afobe would have done. If you don’t trust Nuno’s judgement you are in a very small minority of Wolves supporters

Bonatini suits our game more I agree but it isn't daft to think Afobe would be a bigger threat in front of goal as it is bleedin' obvious

He was fecking awful in the build up play last season. He went missing whenever we played one of the better teams, drifted out wide too much to find space (as his movement and touch aren’t good enough to do that in the middle of the pitch) but he struggled to hold onto the ball there anyway and wanted to run channels which didn’t fit our system.
He is good at two things; being in the box or running in behind. He plays in straight lines though, so gets found out on those things at this level. He may grab the odd goal when we are already winning, but he would not have won us any points in a tight game.
Given all the negative press there has been about him in recent months, I am pretty glad we have got rid.
