Improve year on yeartop plan

Would take a slow and steady improvement rather than the massive ups and down we seems to have been having the last few seasons

You definitely had a better squad/starting position than Klopp did when he took over. Chelsea have such a big squad he could sell to buy too, buying better players suited to his style when they become available, making do with youth/squad if they are not.

Klopp was not strongly backed by every summer he usually sold to buy, the money spent this summer was from the Coutinho deal. The VVD money was already there whether cout stayed or went. The owners have spent little of the clubs money since Klopps been here, hopefully its going towards the next stadium expansion and the new training ground etc.

Forget the Flopp model

Sarri has his own methods and ideas, would just love for him to get time and financial backing like the other rival managers have had.

Klopps spent 92m net in 32 months 5 windows 18.4m a spend a window or 30m a year, pretty sure the owners budget is way higher than that for the club.

'buy the right players' easier said than done, otherwise everyone would all sign the right players, yet they dont

This time next year Sarri will be thinking about his exit plan and the big fat payout every Chelsea manager gets.

I would say 4 is looking pretty good so far given we broke the transfer record on a keeper he wanted.

Liverpool were ruthless in the transfer market this summer. They had the money, knew what they needed, and went and got top quality, something we’ve failed to do for ages.

They themselves were making up for years of indecisiveness that made our policy look top class all over the shop.

For all the feck ups we make, we would never neglect any position for half a decade the way they did with GK and CB, ever!!!!

"Liverpool model" is not the model to follow or be considered as the benchmark. Unsustainable.

This time next next year Klopp will be stuck in a rut, threaten to quit only to have the lives of his wife and kids threatened if he doesnt pledge his lifelong alliegance to the club. Sounds familiar….right?

I'm hoping when Roman and co identified Sarri they had the Pool/Klopp model in mind. In many cases a manager is just as effective as the model his board have for him.... e.g. if we'd have gone for Jardim instead, the Spurs/Poch model would've been more fitting due to his record with young players.

By approaching Sarri we've prioritized having an identity and attractive playing style over instant success. Nothing wrong with that provided that's what we've actually done, not hired a 59 y/o without a trophy and a brief to win something.

Couldn't disagree more.

Having a manager with as strong of an identity as Klopp is only a good long term thing for a club, provided he stays long enough to imprint his philosophies on the club which he has. When Klopp moves on, Pool will be left with a squad that has very specific skills and characteristics making recruitment of the new manager and any new signings much simpler.

We experienced this after Mourinho left in 2007. He left us with a squad hardwired to play one specific way and it left us in good stead, we only began to fall away in spells when specific managers/Roman tried to fight that identity. Provided Liverpool don't make our mistakes (or Dortmund's when they replaced Tuchel with Bosz), they'll have a sustainable model going forward because of Klopp.

Judging by your recent track record with predictions a Sarri long term stay is confirmed.
