And actually thinking about it I would prob rate Silva higher too.

I think you’ll have to be pretty deluded not to have him in your top 10, he’s an elite striker with a fantastic record. If he wasn’t injury prone at times one makes you wonder how many more goals he could’ve scored.

Certainly one of the prem's best strikers

Maybe I’m doing him a disservice then. It’s tough as there are so many Prem greats, suppose it depends on preference.

He's easily one of the best player to grace the English game.

But with some many great players, how anyone can come up with a top ten is beyond me!

Yeah, I'd have him in the top 10.

Out of the list in the OP, I'd have him above Bergkamp and Gerrard. Arguably Cantona too (and i say that as someone who idolised Cantona growing up)

Henry is number 1. After that, it's anyone's call.

posted on 22/9/18

He’s a class player, one of the best strikers to play in the prem, but he’s up their in good company, not by himself.

Disagree Bloodred, Cantona was the last piece of the jigsaw that enabled us to start our domination of English football. Massive influence and character, Aguero is fantastic but City haven’t dominated much in his seven years there.

I put Cantona and Bergkamp above him because they were the players that revolutionised their respective clubs play (more so Cantona) I don’t think Aguero has done this.

Would be interested to hear from City fans on who they rate higher out of Aguero and Silva. I feel Silva has been more important to their recent success and has been their best signing.

Yep. But at the same time I think Aguero is a better footballer.

Debatable one. I think Brummie is right in saying it's an impossible task to think up a top 10.

A top ten could include the following

Henry, Ronaldo, Keane, Bergkamp, Scholes, Giggs, Eric, Viera, Gerrard, Lampard, Aguero, Suarez, Shearer, Silva, Schmeichel, RVN, plusa few more.

To get that down to ten is impossible.

Happy to admit - I wouldn't know where to start!

Deserves to finish his Premier League career before comparing him to others. He's won the league three times and will probably get another couple of titles at least.

Top 10 of what? If strikers then he's definitely up there if players he isn't.

Henry, Scholes, Gerrard, Lampard, David Silva, Hazard, Vieira, Ronaldo, Giggs and Shearer are just 10 players old and new off the top of my head who are ahead. That's without defenders and goalkeepers included.

BUT that's not to discredit Aguero because he's a fantastic player and has talent alongside all those mentioned. It's just that when it comes top 10 Premier League players you need to really look into it with a magnifying glass and he doesn't cut it above those.

Too subjective to me, for example I'd easily have him among the list that Boss By Hugo has listed, everyone will have a differing opinion.

If you don't restrict it to the PL era, there are even more names to throw in the pot.

Then don't forget the bias factor, some will always put their favourite hero's (rightly or wrongly) above others, for example, I'd always put Zola above Bergkamp and Cantona as I saw more of him on a regular basis and felt a closer bond toward him.

Even a neutral, I think would find hard to come up with a top ten and find it hard to find anyone else agree with it.

Wouldn't have Aguero top 10 for sure. All the ones you've listed, plus Lampard, Terry, Ferdinand, Cech, Schmeichal, Viera and probably more above him. Eden Hazard and De Gea would be above him too in terms of current players.

Well there you have it then - conclusive proof from Wahl

Aguero has had injury problems for a few seasons and has said this season is the first time he has felt fully fit in years.

Guy is the most clinical finisher in the league by some distance imo, in terms of chances to goals. A real fox in the box but I admit his all around game may not be as good as some other strikers.

Every team in the prem would take him if they had the chance. If he has been as prolific as he has when not even fully fit I kinda feel bad for the goalies and defenders in the league this season!

Pretty much this list. Was thinking about the way people throw around the word great and world class and when you look back, certain players havent been eclipsed at all.

My Top 10 in no particular order simply due to their ability and how they influenced the game

Arsenal
1.Henry
2. Viera
3. Cole

United
4. Keane
5. Giggs
6. Ronaldo

Chelsea
7. Drogba
8. Terry

Liverpool
9. Gerrard

Man City
10. Aguero

I havent even put in Shearer, Rio, Scholes, Adams, Pires, Lampard
