So 4 sets of fans in the one area of glasgow for the day, splendid. Powers that be have clearly not seen The Great Escape recently, putting “all your rotten eggs in one basket” doesn’t work!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
leave house 10.30
Pint in town 11.00
to the ground for KO

Doubt any Celtic or Hearts fans will be about.

2pm game over train to town then back to local for 3pm.

This is still nearly 5 hours before the second game FFS.

Cant see much cross over if any.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You underestimate the fannnies from the various supports?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Im aware but we cant run the world based on what some phannie might do.
Might as well shut the world if that was the case.

If Hearts or Celtic fans are around the city at 2 pm when our game finishes that would be the same as wondering about at 9am before a 3 pm KO.

If folk are that mental then noting will stop them anyway.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Guarantee there will be celtic fans in the pub watching the first game. You seem quite niave to the behviours of both clubs fans here

And it doesn't necessarily have to be 6 hours before the game.. even 4 hours is 3.45.

That's only a couple hours after the first game.

Still doesn't get away from the fact the stadium staff have twice the work to do, twice the turnover etc.

And the pitch is renowned for cutting up, no chance it'll be playing well come the second game. Especially if it's raining.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
to be honest I think if they had played the games in Nirvana and given everyone a grand you might still moan.

Folk just need to behave like normal humans
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Aye drink football fans are known for their good behaviour

Folk just need to behave like normal humans

This is the four biggest clubs in Scotland who all quite possibly hate each other, of course their will be trouble
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I doubt the clubs really hate each other.

But yes a few kiddys don't like other guys because the support a different football team.

But are we running the world based on these type of people?

Anyway its not ideal but we just get on with it.

Ill go and pretty sure I wont see a hearts or celtic fan

Not if game goes to extra time.. Its very possible that fans from first game won't be getting into central till about 3/half 3, if they stay in town for a drink for even just an hour they will defo be a mix as celtic fans get ready for their game. Might not be thousands of fans but could easily be a few hundred in a crossover between games

==

Then they better behave
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Drunk old firm fans are notorious for being well behaved in each others company

Possible maybe probable

But I aint for running stuff to fit with the plans of some mental cases

But the world is run for these type of people. We have to cater for the lowest common denominator otherwise the dafties ruin it for the rest of us.

What are your thoughts on kickoff times for OF games for example?

Easy to say before anything has happened. You cannot predict what drunk people will do even more so when there is bitterness involved

Aye, nothing has ever been cancelled or rearranged due to eejits

I would predict some trouble
No more than normal though

I doubt we will see full scale riots.

And I don't think its ideal, but then what would have been?

I think we go so far and KO for OF games is an example.

If someone has a perfect alternative to this (other than my genius idea of Sunday Monday) Im listening.

Not having the fans I n the same place at the same time drunk.. Common sense, different days or different venues. That would mean not as much profits tho

posted on 27/9/18

also Aberdeen will be going to Queen Street about the same time the Hearts mob are getting in

Celtic beating AEK and being in Champs League

Seriously though they could have;

— Played the Celtic Hearts game in Murrayfield and the Rangers Aberdeen game at Hampden
- Played one game Sunday 3pm and the other Monday 7:45pm at Hampden.

clearly not but that message would be the same for any big game

so they would be told to get back local
Just as I will do and would have done no matter when the games were played.

yes I would be interested (a very wee bit) if they told us why option 2 wasn't good.

Option 1 Im unsure about.

Then sorry bud but u are niave, there will be loads of groups out together to either watch the next game or celebrate. Ask yourself why you are the only one on here with the view that this could not turn out to carnage

Agree with Duke, it's not ideal but if you want tae avoid bother just get away after the game and get home, equally fans going to the later game should just pitch up, have a few drinks and go to the game👍

As u said you could quite easily have a scenario where u have gers fans not in the best of moods if we lose, and Celtic fans with a legit reason to be where those rangers fans will be going to (Central Station area) I'm sure in n his scenario the celtic fans will offer nothing more than condolences!!

Yep.. common sense and football fans, especially drunk ones always go hand in hand

I can only assume Police Scotland are happy for this to go ahead as they'll all be on double bubble for a Sunday 😂

Rangers fans will be through the station by 3pm
No reason for any other fans to be there.
