Some disappointing comments in the OP; but aside from that it would be a bad move from the FA. There are a lot of very capable BME candidates out there who, at least from the outside, appear to be way more capable and tolerable than S*l.

Do we need any of this for players - no because they get bought regardless of their colour / religion etc because they are the best at what they do

We now have women on Sky, BBC, and BT sports reporting on live matches. The ex pros I’m referring to not the presenters just to tick a box - just listen to them they are absolute clueless

I saw an article the other day saying that women’s football gets more coverage on the BBC sports section than the whole of league 1,2 and national league combined despite having an audience of 0.5% of the conference

The FA also said it will introduce an NFL-style 'Rooney Rule' to ensure at least one BAME candidate is interviewed for any England role "if a suitably qualified BAME candidate applies".

I assume this is largely down to his position as a former international.

Brian Deane, who played internationally for England, is a BME coach/manager who has outwardly been looking for work. He actually went to manage for a couple of seasons in Norway.

This is what all footballers transitioning to management should be doing. Get coaching experience at smaller clubs before expecting to be given a top job on a silver platter.
