I did say we should sign Aubameyang in the summer that we signed Morata. Did an article on it as well. Nevermind. Just hope that the club learns from this.

And more importantly I hope that we're looking to sign a striker in Jan and that the club are working round the clock as of now to make that happen. Damn well better be if the club are serious about getting top four this season.

Difficult to sign a top class striker in January, many of them are playing in the champions league unlike us so not sure they'd want to move.

I can only think of Icardi and Immobile who stand out but not sure either will be willing to move in January and it will cost big money again

Yeah it's definitely more difficult to sign a striker in Jan. But the club with their supposedly widespread scouting network are going to have to find someone. Or just try and bring in someone PL proven like Vardy for a season or so. Just about anything has to be better than Morata.

I did like the idea of Vardy a couple of years ago, not so sure he's worth getting anymore. As you've mentioned though, he's proven in the prem and we'll know what we're getting with him unlike Morata who needs to go back to Madrid with Conte.

Vardy scored 20 PL goals last season and already has 3 in 5 this season. Stats Morata could only dream of. So for a season or two he'd be well worth having. Assuming we could get him for a reasonable fee of course.

Icardi is just a pipe dream I fear. If he's going anywhere it will be to Real Madrid or the like. Highly likely he'll just stay put at Inter as well.

He could be useful for a season or two, while we're looking to buy Leicester players we should try signing Maguire and Chilwell too!

That Piatek has scored 13 goals in 9 games this season, not sure we can just throw money at another untested player at the highest level and hope it works. That's why I'd prefer Icardi/Immobile who have been more consistent

Well Morata was supposedly "tested" at the highest level and that hasn't turned out so well. I think we should be looking for the next big thing as opposed to breaking the bank for supposedly proven strikers. Many of which flop anyway like Torres and Morata.

Over £100 million was spent on those two alone. In fact whenever we've spent around £30 million or more on a striker it hasn't worked out for us. You can probably put Shevchenko in that bracket as well.

Diego Costa being the only real exception to that so far.

Morata was hardly tested, bit part striker for both Juve & Madrid. It's his birthday today...

Both Icardi and Immobile have scored 20+ in their last two seasons.

Both very good strikers but I'll be very surprised if we ever land Icardi. Immobile is a possibility but again unless we're going to offer Lazio a huge sum of money I'm not sure why they would even consider selling.

I fear it's too late now though...unless we can prize him away in january for a last payday and loan Morata somewhere - anywhere

We're just so fed up with Morata and hoping anyone decent can come in January. I thought Morata would come good this season but that doesn't look to be happening...

Immobile is someone with a fantastic scoring record last two seasons at a good age who isn’t mentioned a lot.

Immobile would be an excellent signing for us. If Lazio were willing to sell there would be a host of clubs after him I suspect and he'd cost a fortune because Lazio would be able to charge one for him.

I was going to go to the Bradford v Coventry game to check over Dujon Sterling but didn't get back to the hotel till eight!
