Thoughts on yesterday?

On the game, well I said before that it wasn't going to be the easy victory that so many neutrals seemed to be predicting. Knew Utd would be well up for it and they were.

For all the good things Sarri has done so far he definitely got it wrong starting Morata and then persisting with him throughout the game. Should have come off at half time.

What did you make of him Nick ?

much the same mate, I done a whole article saying it wouldn't be easy, if there's one thing mourinho can do is kill a game's tempo.

But staying with morata and willian that long was frustrating.

Would also like to see Emerson on thursday.

I thought alonso, willian and morata were by far our worst players.

Kovacic looks an accomplished footballer but we need to see a bit more from him.

Yup it was always going to be a tough game. Previous form counted for very little and Utd have some really good players.

William's form is weird. He should be enjoying life under Sarri. Maybe he wanted a move to Utd in the summer. As for Morata he's done as a Chelsea player, we need to get rid in Jan if possible and bring in a competent replacement.

It's hard to blame Sarri for the Morata situation, it's not like Giroud comes on and blows teams away. He's only slightly more effective than Morata. I really don't see what he can do.

I still think it was a massive mistake to loan out Abraham, knowing how fragile our striking options are.

The other thing that saddened me yesterday was watching Mata. I've always thought he was a wonderful footballer and was imagining what it would be like if he were lining up for us in place of Willian.

It's another of the many incidents that helped turn me against Mourinho.

I don't see how you'd come to that conclusion?

All he's ever done is score goals apart from in a poor Swansea team last year.

And even if he's not, I'd ask the question - who would you prefer in the squad, him or Morata?

If you're still adamant you don't want Morata in the squad, then you already have your answer!

I can't argue against having him in the side in place of Morata to be fair...
He's certainly not going to be worse..I'd just question whether he's strong enough

Yup yesterday was the Jose Mourinho show again. It always has to be about him and his giant ego overseeing proceedings. Chelsea playing Man Utd seemed incidental.
