Some news from the Sarri presser - Barkley and CHO both a doubt
He expects both Kovacic and Rudiger to be ready for tomorrow
Stats win games though in the end of the day. You don't win a game because Hazard did a cute dribble, you win a game because Messi scored the goals his team needed. And football is about winning.
I don't think it's ridiculous to say that the best players in football are the ones who win their respective teams the most games. That's the objective of football.
Well nobody has won their team more games or delivered more trophies over the last 4-5 years than hazard so that's good. Hazard probably goes into the category of both.
But like I said, I was commenting on favourite players. Nothing else.

Doubt it.

Also this is very harsh seeing as for me, over the years JT, cech and other defenders (cole, ivanovic) have been as much to our success as our strikers.

Sheriff where do you sit mate? Getting nervous about tomorrow so opening a hop house at my desk

Re Hazard...happy we've had the best of him and wish him the best when he moves on...just happy he's not moving to a prem rival...hopefully
Got us for 3-1 tomorrow haz pen somewhere...when one of their carthorses bring him down
Someone said some people wouldn't rate Zola, so that's a question of quality, not whether he's your favourite player or not.

yeah some players just have those intangibles that cannot be measured by stats.
Most peoples favourite players will be the zola's, bergkamps, okochas, ronaldinho's, zidane's of the world.
Not the inzaghi's, defoe's etc.

Obviously defensive players have different contributions they make. But in the same way, I wouldn't rate a defender that is talented on the ball over one who can actually defend properly.

Okay then, still don't get what your point is.
Are you even old enough to remember him. you are 21. zola left chelsea in 2003. You would have been what, 6?
yeah some players just have those intangibles that cannot be measured by stats.
------------------------------
Exactly, stats only tell part of the story. Some players just make the players around him play better, Zola was one of those players, imo anyway.
superb
As cringe as it is, I coasted for the tv series suits
One of the episodes was about a guy who just didn't have the same numbers as others, didn't close the same amount of cases.
They sacked the guy, and everyone elses performance went down.
Turned out he was the one who helped everyone else and carried the load.
I found it very apt for how some things cannot be measured by stats.
It's most noticeable in basketball.

Why do you get so defensive. All I'm saying are intangibles clearly aren't worth as much as, well, tangibles lol.
not being defensive. just didn't get your point. No need in half your comments.
well I do get your point, your just trying to bash hazard as per normal. Don't ruin this thread by doing so is all I ask.
I'm not ruining any thread, I'm just giving my opinion. I don't really like players who are just attractive to watch but have have no actual end product.
thank god hazard is not like that then.
He's been good this season so far yeah. I want him to play further forward consistently and be more direct though.
Would be interesting to see who has done more in English football since he arrived.
2 league titles, 1 poty. 1 runner up in poty. Fa Cup. League Cup. Europa league. More goals than anyone against the top 6. Silver ball in the world cup. Made captain of his national team.
Only player I think could come close would maybe be kante or maybe a man city player?
Since 2012 I don't think that anyone else has done more than him Nick. It's weird how he's getting so much praise and recognition now though. Can remember so many people telling us last season and before how overrated he is etc.
