Will be interesting to see barkley now too, had a fair few "good" games now needs to take it up a notch and carry on with the goals/assists.

Got a goal and assist last game, an assist for england. Let's hope he keeps it up.

Does feel slightly inevitable that Sarri will play Hazard up front at some point, or at least try him there. Let's see. Would certainly open up a slot for CHO to come into the team.

Personally I'd rather keep Hazard exactly where he is for the moment and just have a competent 20 goal per season striker up front. Wonder if we might make a January bid for Dzeko ? Seems he's heading back to the PL either way.

Yeah, although I feel giroud compliments hazard so well(compared to say a costa whos link up play was imo poor). We need someone to take the load of hazard.

Hazard - 20
Giroud - 10
Morata - 10
Barkley - 10
Pedro - 10
Willian - 5?
Others (alonso etc) - 15?

that's 80. A pretty normal goal return. Perfect scenario though.

I can accept people like costa more than me, but things like " Excellent hold up play" I just can't stand for.

The groans every week at the bridge whenever he lost the ball or didn't bother were, at times, deafening. That has stuck with me.

Great finisher, absolute nuisance, but poor hold up play, poor dribbler, and had a lot of weaknesses.

Infact it was his tenacity that made up for those things, but when he wasn't "on it", he was a waste of space.

Costa was a player I was thinking of on my ‘players who get better in hindsight’. When he was good he was great but when he wasn’t he was horrible, no ‘all round play’ so to speak of, and it annoyed us all. Now he’s left he’s often referred back as if he was always a perfect all round CF, 50% of the time very clumsy and frustrating. No better than Lukaku who people love to go overboard on about his touch/all round play

Yeah Costa's all round play was questionable and I hated those extended patches he went through where he couldn't hit a barn door. Happened a couple of times at least during his time with us.

Having said that when he was really on it he was great. I did love that version of Costa. At the same time I don't miss him right now, we've moved on.

Just wish we had a striker that can put the ball in the net regularly and I don't understand why we don't have one at the club. It's weird.

Nick...alas & sadly my attending the Bridge days are long gone...I was a regular for many years from early 80's through to the 90's

Very much an armchair supporter now...golf has taken me for its slave, but I remain no less passionate for us to do well now as then.

Hope you guys meet up & enjoy some quality time...keep us posted
