Brummie, one wants Giroud to play because Tammy has not shown enough in the first four games to suggest he can become a top striker. Another thinks that if we were to finish 7th it would mean that are young players and Lampard are not good enough. Their obsession with league position and utter impatience is beyond my comprehension

Some of the discussions/points are even more interesting given the season is barely a month old.

What's beyond my comprehension is just over 12 months ago most were in agreement that the team and squad was not good enough with many players deemed not good enough.

Fast forward 12 months and we've lost our talisman, not able to sign players got a rookie manager and when all fit will be very reliant on at least 5 academy players - yet for some bizarre reason we're expected to challenge for top 4 when even top 6 is in the balance!

If anything I'm finding the present time more exciting than any time I can remember in recent seasons!

Part of it has to be our recent success and being a "big" club. A lot of supporters, myself included, have been (un)fortunate to have only experienced a Chelsea that has done relatively well. Nothing is deserved or guaranteed though. I'm excited to see how the team progresses, even if that means time spent in the wilderness or regression in terms of league position and 'stature'.

For my money, if we're top ten & settled by Christmas i'll be comfortable with that...we'll know by then who is good enough, more importantly Frank will, & the chaff can sit on the bench

After Christmas we'll know if progressing into the CL knockouts were within our grasp, the FA cup will be upon us, & we might still be in the Carabao...realistically our two best chances of silverware this term

I don't know about that Biggish, only the other day I had a lovely Victoria Sponge cake with Raspberry jam and buttercream in the middle - which I promptly ate!

Going well at the moment soc, only my 2nd week and still going through the most laid back induction period I've ever known!

I reckon we will rotate giroud and tammy anyways, tammy will need his rest, still developing etc but has so far shown me positive signs. I thought he was good against utd and liverpool too.

I think this site because everyone is on it daily, and due to this age with social media.people get bored in between matches and get quite sensationalist and reactionary. Long gone are the "wait till we are half way through the season to judge" or "can't judge him in his first season".

I dunno bout you guys but before the season started I thought we'd really struggle but would bring through some youth.
Seeing how we've played and with the personnel to come back I think we can make top 4.
If we don't I won't be too fussed.

It's a testament to players like mount and abraham that I think we can bed them in and make them key players and still make top 4.

Only reason i'd really like top 4(other than obvious CL footy) is to shut up the lampard haters.

I find a lot of young supporters get carried away by the whole 'Big Club' thing as if it's a prerequisite to supporting a club.

In reality if they were successful there are a whole raft of clubs that could be deemed a 'Big Club' based on the size of fan base and historical stature of the club.

Everton, Newcastle, Sunderland, Leeds, Sheffield Wednesday and dare I say it Vanilla would all class as big clubs, yet todays young football fan would argue against it because they haven't won anything during their young lives!

I just feel blessed that fate decided I was a Chelsea fan all those years ago no matter what league we're in or how little we win!

And we'll know where we need to spend, two transfer windows worth of budget, the Hazard/Morata money plus any other fees recouped for moving on bit part players!

It's very true though brum, and again it's probably a bi product or social media, mordern day marketing and televised games. People 50 years ago were probably just happy to go to the games and cheer their team on. None of this my club is bigger than yours nonsense.
