Yeah I'd certainly heard of them when I used to play. Played quite a few teams out there back in the day. Played at Ilford St. Valentines Park (which I think was a County ground?) once and we couldnt get out of there by car when we left the bar coz the groundsman had locked up the park.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes Valentines Park was an old county ground and Ilford's home g. I played there a few times for my club Brentwood.
Ilford produced Gooch and John Lever

I remember John Lever - very good bowler back in the 70s!
Brentwood, another senior Club in the area.
My Clubs were Wembley CC and Acton CC.
Bairstow that's a loose shot

I played for their 2nd team Summer.
Yep that was a loose shot and typical aussies they get a wicket just when it was starting to slip away from them
these two have got put on 50 I feel
I did keep wicket for the 1st team for 6 seasons and the rest of the time I mainly played for the 2nds.
I did also play at several County grounds like Uxbridge and Guildford during the period as well as one game on the nursery at Lords against the Crossarrows CC.
Feckin Mrs, dropped her at Tesco, went to Greggs for a latte, went back to Tesco and she's still smooching round the clothing department!
were you a chirpy keeper Summer/

A right sledger!
I bet, i must admit i hated keepers and their non stop chatter
but feck me, whenever i played agst a team with an aussie or two in it, it was ten times worse, wherever they were fielding...they don't ever shut the feck uo
I think that is probably it.....too big an ask for Stokes i fear
Yes mate like most glovemen I had a lot of trap. A bit like on here
On the way to a barbie what's the latest?
I've just finished watching what I recorded of the Ashes when I went to Tesco!
When Leach came out I'd have bet my house on the Aussies winning that.
I couldn't breath when it came down to the teens let alone single figures to win.
What an innings Stokes my son!
BZ to Leach for staying with him as well!!
No need to guess who the Man of the Match was!
I have just got my composure back now. I watched 1981 Headingly Test and many others. That is the greatest innings I have ever seen and Test cricket is and will always be the greatest format of the game.

I was at the Saturdays play for the Edgbaston test that series - Botham was just as amazing there as well.
We've seen something special today though!
If the Geordies can hang onto this lead, it'll be almost the perfect sporting weekend!
Hope the racist mugs saw Tammy help Chelsea win yesterday.
Another example of VAR not doing what it was introduced for!
Although being $purs it was funny!

Yeah but TBF I strongly suspect they were nothing to do with Chelsea Football Club. I did a little of my own investigative work and the only tweets I could find were by no individual you could positively ID as a bone fide Chelsea fan!
