This is unforgivable. The captaincy has to be taken off Root now. How can he sit on a board as Captain and pass judgement on which batsmen should be dropped (if they intend to) when his batting form is worse than anyone's bar Roy!

Trouble is I can't come up with an alternative for captain. I don't think bowlers make good captains and I don't like flair players like Botham, Pieterson, Flintoff and in this case Stokes as captain.

But I'd also put Root in there as a flair player as well.

I don't know if Denly has any captaincy experience but he certainly has more cricketing experience than Root.

Sheriff, otherwise known as the lumpy scrumpy drinker !

Our batsmen could do with having a long hard look a Australia's stand in batsmen (mind you I don't think he'll be a stand in any longer) and learn from him.

Show a bit of grit and fight and the runs will come!

i am a big fan of Jorginho but tbh i don't think he has been great this season so far apart from agst Liverpool.

Kovacic was man of the match for me today
