Ally McCoist World Class, no offence but gtfeven Ally wouldn't agree with that.

No better than many decent Scotiish forwards, McAvennie, Durie, etc.... and worse than Jordan, Wark, etc...

Ally was a very good player, better than he's given credit for.

But world class?get a grip
----------------------------------------------------------------------
he was a world class goal scorer hence his achievements. Only Messi and Ronaldo have won the golden boot more times than ally

Listen McCoist was good we all agree, but c'mon World Class, nah just nah.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
not as an all round player but as a goalscorer he was world class. If Larsson was world class so was Mccoist

Winning the European Golden Boot two years in a row suggests he was one of the best in the world at the time, ergo world class.

mccoist scored 19 goals for scotland 13 of them in competetive games which i think is more than anybody else other than law and dalglish since the sixties

also scored over 20 goals in europe and about 30 goals against celtic aswell, add in two european golden boots, ten league titles and 10 cups and i don't think there is any doubt he is the best striker scotland have had since dalglish

i don't think he is overated at all he's is a bit like boyd in everybody thinks he just poaches goals but some of boyds were belters aswell

McCoist is one of your lot (and there are damned few) that you had to actually doff your cap and admit was a fantastic footballer and certainly right up there among the greatest in Scotland.

I’ve no issues with acknowledging that.

here. tell you who I used to dread seeing in your team sheet ......Sasa Papac.

Very underrated player and as far as I saw never put a foot wrong.

Most definitely. Boyd could have accomplished a lot more if he wasn't a fat lazy b@stard.

In terms of professionalism McCoist blows Boyd away.

Papac was loved by us for that very reason. He was a 7/10 every single game regardless who he was up against. He even played well against Messi and Henry.

You often wonder how players like that can go under the radar both before the join us and during their time at the clubs.

Been quite a few like that over the years. How Lubo never played for a top club in a top league is beyond me. He was twice the player of the Di Canios of this world

I agree with that 100%. I always thought di Canio was a very good player but I never thought he produced enough while he was at Celtic. I thought he was capable of better, especially with his final ball.

Nakamura and Lubo were far more effective IMO.

They had the added benefit of not being a nutjob, right wing fascist lunatic. It does help in the temperament stakes.

The simple fact is he's funnier than anyone to ever play for Celtic.
