How about just as a plain, common or garden centre forward

No..I did think st points in the match that he could probably play as a winger though, not surprised he’s been put there before

We've already got a false number 9 - his name is Morata.

Nice to see our midfielders getting goals. I'm begining to think one of Ruben/Barkley should start whilst Kovacic rotates with Kante and Jorginho.

Ruben/Barkley ------ Kovacic/Kante
----------- Kovacic/Jorginho ----------

Don't really like that TLLL don't think either Ruben or Ross have done enough yet to warrant a starting position. Both are doing well to improve their chances no doubt but at the moment it's pretty clear that Kova, Jorge and Kante are quite a bit a head of the others. Look at the weekend how we fell apart when Kova went off, and although Barkley didn't do anything wrong there was a clear golf of quality. And also let's not forget what exactly has Cheek done? Scored a hatrick Vs a pub team who quite honestly we should have spanked by at least 6 with cheek getting another and not conceeding like we did.

He hasn't hurt his chances but lets calm down a little. We beat a team that the majority of us had never heard of until we were drawn with them a few weeks ago and who our Best team should be spanking.

Simon I know but still needs to be given at least half as many chances as Bakayoko before we discard him.He can be a handful as a winger, midfielder or a striker at different times.I think he can at least like Kalou or Schurrle in the future. Both were vital squad players of Chelsea.

Zahr he deserves chances, I am not saying he doesnt, but they need to be as subs or as tonight in Europe/Cups. He hasnt as yet earned a place as a starter in the prem, but he has taken a chance and made it count.

Should he be starting a head of any of our main 3 guys? No. Should he be available as an option off the bench or for cup games - hell yes. We have 3 spots and at least 5 players fighting for them - which I think is great for CFC at this time as if all goes well we are easily gonna be playing 60+ games this season.

However, we still need to put CFC first, RLC looked good tonight, but he doesnt look "anything special", now that may sound harsh but we have seen it plenty of times, but if he keeps working hard and improves his game there is no reason why he cant be starting in the future.

But dont be like AC, running your mouth and when it comes down to the business side of things you dont deliver. I like players being cocky and all, and showing confidence etc but dont be a deek about it. Make sure when the time comes you deliver.

RLC done that tonight and im certain we will see him more often on the bench now and getting minutes, young Andreas on the other hand is now prob our 4th cb and wouldnt surpise me if he is moved on in Jan/Summer - it will be a shame, but really I dont care. He should be concentrating on his job rather than running his mouth and trying to capture his form of last year, as this year he has been pretty poor and on form he doesnt deserve to start.

Simon problem with our Chelsea team is scoring goals from midfield on a consistent basis apart from Hazard. Now Barkley is doing alright but doesn't inspire confidence at times.I agree with you about Christensen but still needs to be handled differently and as for Jorginho and Kovacic, yes they are first choices. If we do try him (Ruben) as a supersub,I am sure he can impact matches in Premiership. We can also start him at times in games against lower teams in Premiership a bit more.As for left back position,I am sure that Emerson can also do a good job as he was quite good when called upon last season but our defense apart from Azpilicueta looks suspect at times. As for our goalkeeper ,I think he appears to be better than Courtouis ever appeared to me as a Chelsea goalkeeper.I love Arizibalaga.

Jorginho and especially Kovacic have been very good this season. Some fans won’t like it but I think it’s Kante’s position that should be up for grabs.

Btw how bad was Fabregas yesterday? Kept losing the ball even though he was given so much time to pick out passes. So slow.

It was a weird game for him as yeh he kept in giving the ball away, and we were so far forward most the game we just bypassed him completely. In all honesty Sarri I feel got the team selection wrong. Wasn't a good game for Giroud or Cesc. Would have been better with more mobile players. A part of me wants to say Morata.......But then my brain kicks in

Easy to get carried away with things when you win a training game

That said, Morata seriously needs replacing and if we aren't buying a striker in january (unlikely) we need to do something

I'm still of he opinion that we play 451 and flood the midfield, of which we have a plethora of decent talent now.
No reason RLC can't be part of that, and it doesn't matter who plays up front...as long as it's not Morata or Giroud

I think our squad is looking quite good. I would like us to try for Martial. He's apparently rejected a new contract at Utd, and if they are interested in Willian and Moses, it should be made to happen.

Morata needs to go and if funds need to be raised Kante seems surplus to requirements ATM. Kante is great, he just isn't what we need ATM.

My worry with this...is that there are a number of clubs that would love Kante...

No way are you guys thinking about selling Kante, if we let him go our midfield is finished.

He's the only one with legs and the ability to cover ground. Ok, he's not the best with the ball but he keeps it simple. The real problem is we don't have a striker who can score 20+ goals and we don't have a defence that can win games 1-0 against good opposition.

RLC suggested as a false 9 sums up what we think about our current strikers

this....people don't understand Kante's role anymore becaue he plays further up than he did. He is still our only defensive midfielder and without him we would be fecked. Luckily Sarri knows this .

Totally agree with Tabli and SWTN. Kante is your most important player; it's no coincidence he won back-to-back Prems with different teams- he was the common denominator. Kante would improve any team. The last thing you should be doing is getting rid of Kante.

At Chelsea you've got yourselves into what I call a 'nice problem' insofar as you've got a lot of very capable midfielders. RLC would walk into most Prem starting 11s, perhaps in any other team. There's healthy competition, but I'd be using RLC for cup games, back up and occasionally Prem sub appearances. Hopefully he'd end up with 20 to 30 appearances in the season and that'd be sufficient. If he picks up medals and remains in the England side, that should keep him at Chelsea. Otherwise if I were him I'd look to go to a top team in Italy as I think it'd suit his game there.
