I don't see Fabregas as backup to Jorginho. If Jorginho was unavailable for any reason then either Barkley or Ruben would simply come in to join Kante and Kovacic in a midfield three. Cesc is way behind in the pecking order how, probably 6th choice as things stand.
It wasn't his movement no one was marking him, he was given free reign...………….it was a gift

Yep, was like a training session, but his principle movements were very similar to how a false 9 linchpins an attack, the base ingredients are in his game clearly. Would be curious to see how he'd handle that role if someone was marking him, or against opposition who were better defensively in general.
It's a curious situation as I remember Conte saying he saw RLC as a striker and I can see why now.
Barkley/RLC/Kova fight for one shirt.

He couldn't be any worse there than Morata. That is for absolute certain. I never really saw Ruben as a striker but I'd like to see Conte's experiment of playing him as a striker tried again. Wonder if Sarri has toyed with this idea in training matches ? Would save us a fortune and not have to panic buy a striker in Jan if it actually worked.

It won't work any better than Giroud at the moment. We need a top CF to get the big wins.
Giroud hasn't scored a single goal all season though.
Yeah we need a boisterous CF, completely change the team dynamic.

Only one winner but the caveat being he is a Real Madrid player

Well to date when Jorginho has not played Fabregas has come in. He is the only Chelsea player with similar attributes. Kante can't play that role so the dynamic would be totally different and we would revert back to being much more counter attacking
