Agreed, but am grateful for what Beckford did for us.
glad to have both. beckford would not have been as successful without luciano but luc is clearly doing much better without becks
I too am very grateful for what Beckford did for us, always go a goal when we needed one.
beckford is being played the same way at everton & leicester...the man was lethal, becchio on the other hand was the silent assassin !
Agreed always grateful for what Beckford did, his goals got us up! But if we signed him would you put him in for McCormack at this present time? Dont think I would
Cant wait til Becchio is fully fit because both him and McCormack have great work ethics! they will run defences raggid! And then when they get a bit tired we have Forssell, Keogh and Nunez to come on!!! Just wish our defence was as good as that! We would walk this league if it was!
Beckford has been lethal this season for Everton and Leicester eh?
Becchio offers more to team play, as does McCormack in my humble opinion.
Beckford was a surly so and so at times.
yeboah83, i don't think mccormack would've been here if beckford would've stayed...
harj, I meant if we re-signed him. But if Beckford hadnt of left sure he would have banged in as many as McCormack, just dont think he would work as hard for the team as a whole.
Just because Beckford's gone, why do people feel the need to downplay his efforts?
His goals per game ratio was superb.
He matured into being able to deliver on the big stage - OT, WHL and v Bristol.
Just how much joy did that win at OT give us all.
And when he was in teh team you felt we were always going to score and some of those goals were super efforts.
I'm glad Becchio is here, but please don't big up Becchio at Beckford's expense, we would still be in Div3 without Beckford.
Well said Jonty on that one. I think Beckford was great for us and sometimes it hints at sour grapes by some fans (i hasten to add some not all)

Beckford's pace (which no-one else in that Div3 side had) and his ability to score superb goals on the turn, out of nothing etc was unique in that team.
It's my belief that without and relying instead on the likes of Kandol or Enoch would have seen us still in Div3 today.

These are all if buts and maybes. Becchio actually hasn't suddenly started scoring more since Beckfords left, so I don't know why you would think he would have.
The facts are, we got promoted with Beckford scoring a hell of a lot of goals.
